Baeksang Arts Awards

The Baeksang Arts Awards, also known as the Paeksang Arts Awards, are awards for the excellence in the film, television and theater industry of South Korea. Baeksang ceremony is the only comprehensive entertainment awards ceremony in South Korea. The awards were first introduced in 1965 by Chang Key-young, the founder of Hankook Ilbo newspaper, whose pen name was "Baeksang". It was established for the development of Korean popular culture and art and for enhancing the morale of artists.

Baeksang Arts Awards ceremony is annually held by the Ilgan Sports and JTBC Plus, affiliates of the Korea JoongAng Daily, usually in the second quarter of each year in Seoul. It is one of South Korea’s most popular and prestigious film and television awards ceremonies.
