FC Orbi was officially founded in 2016 in Tbilisi, Georgia. Throughout its history, the club underwent a series of structural reorganizations and temporary identity shifts. For a certain period, the team competed under the name FC Irao, before undergoing a complete rebranding process to restore its original name, FC Orbi.
The club systematically climbed through the regional tiers of the Georgian football league system. By maintaining a stable competitive performance, FC Orbi successfully secured promotion to Liga 3, the third tier of professional football in Georgia.
Administratively managed under the presidency of Sandro Kurdgelashvili, the club implemented strategic overhauls in both its squad depth and coaching staff. In August 2026, the club appointed Giorgi Jishkariani as the new head manager, who was promoted from his previous role as the head coach of the reserve team, FC Orbi 2. Under the new management, the club focused on integrating prominent regional talent and international players to solidify its position in Liga 3 and progress further in the David Kipiani Georgian Cup.
