Infinity learn

Infinity Learn is an Indian educational technology (edtech) company headquartered in Hyderabad, Telangana. It was founded in 2021 by Sushma Boppana, Seema Boppana, and Sridhar Yalamanchili, and operates as the digital learning arm of the Sri Chaitanya Educational Institutions. The company offers online courses and hybrid learning programs for K–12 students, including preparation for competitive exams such as the IIT-JEE and NEET entrance tests. As of 2023, Infinity Learn's platform had over 7 million learners, including around 750,000 paid subscribers.

History

Infinity Learn was launched in mid-2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic as Sri Chaitanya’s foray into the online education space. Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma was enlisted to promote the platform in its launch campaign “#JeetPakki” (meaning "victory assured") aimed at students preparing for exams. Backed by an initial investment of about $50 million from the Sri Chaitanya group, Infinity Learn scaled quickly after its inception. Within eight months of commercial launch, the platform had registered over one million users and 100,000 paid subscribers, reflecting rapid early growth. Ujjwal Singh, formerly an executive at Pearson, joined as the founding CEO in 2021 to lead Infinity Learn’s expansion beyond being just a digital wing of Sri Chaitanya.

Acquisitions

Infinity Learn has expanded its content and services through several acquisitions:

  • Teacherr (2021) – Acquired in October 2021, Teacherr is a Hyderabad-based digital platform for the teaching community, which provided Infinity Learn with educator networking and content capabilities.
  • Don’t Memorise (2021) – Acquired in late 2021, Don't Memorise is a Mumbai-based multilingual educational content platform focused on grades 6–10. This acquisition added a library of bite-sized video lessons in multiple languages and strengthened Infinity Learn’s content production for school curricula.
  • WizKlub (2022) – In 2022, Infinity Learn acquired a majority stake in Bangalore-based WizKlub, a cognitive development edtech startup targeting children aged 6–14 with programs in higher-order thinking skills (HOTS), coding, and robotics. The deal, valued at around $10 million, led to the creation of Infinity Futurz, a new vertical offering foundational skills and extracurricular learning beyond the standard K-12 curriculum.

Technology and Partnerships

In October 2023, Infinity Learn launched an artificial intelligence-driven learning platform called IL VISTA (short for Virtual Intelligent System for Tailored Academics). IL VISTA was developed as a teacher-assist and student support system leveraging AI to personalize education. The company invested approximately $1 million in IL VISTA’s first phase, which introduced features like an AI-powered doubts resolution assistant (“Doubts AI”) and AI-enhanced assessment tools to aid educators with lesson planning and evaluations. This initiative marked a significant step by Infinity Learn to integrate vertical AI solutions into its learning ecosystem.

In late 2024, Infinity Learn announced a strategic collaboration with Google Cloud to enhance its platform with Google’s advanced AI technology. Through this partnership, Infinity Learn is integrating Google’s AI stack (including models like Vertex AI and Gemini) to deliver hyper-personalized learning experiences for students. The collaboration enables AI-based virtual tutors or “AI agents” on the platform to act as a “teacher-by-your-side,” providing real-time guidance, adaptive practice questions, and tailored study plans based on each learner’s strengths and weaknesses.

Financial Performance

Infinity Learn experienced rapid revenue growth in its first two years of operation. The company’s revenue from operations grew from just ₹2.3 crore in FY2021–22 to over ₹100 crore in FY2022–23, and it became profitable (profit-after-tax positive) within that period. By the end of fiscal year 2023–24, Infinity Learn reported approximately ₹200 crore in revenue and anticipated its first full-year operational profit in FY2024–25.

Infinity Learn’s management set a goal of doubling annual revenue to about ₹400 crore in FY2024–25, and ultimately reaching around ₹500 crore by 2025 with continued expansion.

Expansion and Future Plans

The company began establishing physical learning centers as part of a hybrid learning model; as of 2024, it operates two learning centers (in Lucknow and Patna) and has announced plans to open around 40 centers over the next two years. These centers are intended to complement the online platform with in-person tutoring and support, particularly in smaller cities, though they require significant investment and time to become profitable.
