The Joe Moore Award is awarded annually to the best college football offensive line unit. The award is presented by the Joe Moore Foundation for Teamwork, and they state that "The Joe Moore Award for the Most Outstanding Offensive Line Unit will annually recognize the toughest, most physical offensive line in the country", making it the only major college football award to honor a unit or group.
The award's namesake, Joe Moore, was a long-time offensive line coach at Notre Dame and Pittsburgh. The award was created with the help of former Notre Dame All-American offensive guard Aaron Taylor, who played for Moore.
The award was first given after the 2015 college football season. A committee of voters are made up of all 128 FBS offensive line coaches, media members who played offensive line and a "legacy committee", including colleagues of Moore and players who were coached by him.
Overcoming many early season injuries, Iowa's offensive line has seen seven different starting combinations through 12 games this season. Senior Cole Croston (LT/RT); juniors Ike Boettger (LT, LG, RT), Boone Myers (LT, LG), and Sean Welsh (RG, RT); sophomores James Daniels (C), Lucas LeGrand (C), and Keegan Render (LG, RG); and freshman Levi Paulsen (RG) all started in at least one game for the Hawkeyes

Redshirt senior Jonathan Alvarez also started two games at center and one at left guard

Tackles Ryan Hayes (left) and Andrew Stueber (right) have joined center and captain Andrew Vastardis (center) in starting all 13 games. Guards Zak Zinter (right, 11 starts) and Trevor Keegan (left, 10 starts) have been mainstays as well. Chuck Filiaga (four starts) and Karsen Barnhart (two starts) have also started on either side of Vastardis, and Trente Jones (one start) has been the team's sixth man, lining up as the extra lineman in jumbo alignments
U-M saw starting guards Zak Zinter and Trevor Keegan pick up first-team All-Big Ten honors earlier this month, while Olusegun Oluwatimi was first team on the coaches' ballots. [...] Ryan Hayes (second team, coaches) and Karsen Barnhart (honorable mention, both) also were All-Big Ten picks, [...] Trente Jones (six starts), Giovanni El-Hadi (three starts) and Jeffrey Persi (one start) are also major contributors to the group

Leading the way were senior LT #60 Connor Finucane (13 starts), sophomore LG #71 Paolo Gennarelli (13 starts), sophomore C #51 Brady Small (13 starts), senior RG #53 Bill Katsigiannis (13 starts), and senior RT #65 Lucas Scott (13 starts)
Iowa's five starters – guards Beau Stephens and Kade Pieper, tackles Gennings Dunker and Trevor Lauck, and center Logan Jones – started all 12 games in 2025, with Jones, Stephens and Dunker combining for 120 career starts
