Blocked by @NinjaRobotPirate earlier today for LLM misuse, chatgpt params going back to Jan 2025 (183 creations since then, lots of list articles). Tbh I can't see much that is blatant, and they don't appear to have been warned, I assume this was a CU thing?Kowal2701 (talk, contribs) 23:13, 19 October 2026 (UTC)

They've admitted to LLM usage. I debated as to whether being quizzed on it counts as a warning, but they said they were adjusting the output. I seriously doubt they are. Besides the utm_source stuff, there's obvious LLM-generated "here's a summary of the cited source" statements, such as "The project documentation and repository describe support for continuous batching, chunked prefill, speculative decoding, prefix caching, quantization, and multiple forms of distributed inference and serving." in vLLM (permalink). Humans simply do not talk like that. A human would say "It supports X, Y, and Z." not "The document describes support for X, Y, and Z." While the CheckUser tool can be used to detect some kinds of AI-assisted editing, such as bot use, it's useless for detecting if someone is copy-pasting LLM output into Wikipedia. If people think it's too heavy-handed, whatever – I don't care that much. I can lift the block. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 00:28, 20 October 2026 (UTC)
Given the admission, definitely not too heavy-handed! It's just that we have to establish a start date, so are interested in what you saw. (Start date is often the hardest part.) M kuhner (talk) 07:07, 20 October 2026 (UTC)
sorry, hadn't seen they were asked about it in , agreed w the block. It's all plausibly-AI and there are some LLMisms, I'm not seeing many signs but I guess that's just October 2026 for you (they also seemed clueful, potentially removing signs), FWIW Pangram agrees .
