Mass message

  • MassMessaging items to follow up on (this is more of a tech note, but this is the only page with ideas for next year): phab:T209899 needs to be checked, message body needs dynamic time stamps, distribution process needs to be more carefully executed. — xaosflux Talk 01:23, 20 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Users who do not wish to receive any future "ArbCom 20xx election voter messages‬" on their User:Talk pages

Just like any great thing, some people just wish to "unsubscribe", so let's (not) forget about them, please.

In fact, next year there should be a note at the bottom of the message saying how to unsubscribe. Jidanni (talk) 13:42, 1 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Jidanni: we certainly could make an opt-out sign out page for next year, ideally everyone would only get 1 message ('the vote is open and you are likely eligible' type) - so it would be a bit late to opt-out after we deliver it. I'm not opposed to an opt-out sign up page, just think it will be hard for anyone to actually know about it. — xaosflux Talk 13:53, 1 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Xaosflux, Create a category. Category:Users who do not wish to receive ACE messages. —CYBERPOWER (Merry Christmas) 20:15, 2 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Oh sure, it can be a cat, it could be a page - problem is what are we going to to mass message everyone to sign up :D — xaosflux Talk 22:45, 2 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Xaosflux, Yes exactly. It will be included in the {{ACEMM}} template on how to opt-out in the future. —CYBERPOWER (Merry Christmas) 20:46, 5 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

General/Other

  • Add explanatory info to the elections page regarding the scrutineering process, how long it has taken in the past, and what stage it is currently at, as originally suggested here, mainly by GorillaWarfare, with additional contributions by Revi and by me, as follows:

This is now partly done with User:-revi/ACE scrutineering. — regards, Revi 01:04, 10 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
