Delete It's possible that another article for the speech will be created at some point but there is no 2017 State of the Union Address at least not announced at this point. The newly inaugurated president does not generally do one even though they do often do a non state of the union address to congress at some point soon after they were inaugurated. Some of the history of this in the main article but also in the State of the Union template etc: You'll see there is no '2009' State of the Union (Obama's first year) as well as no '2001' State of the Union (Bush's first year). The 2010 State of the Union article also starts off talking about how it's Obama's first one after he did a on SotU address in 2009. It doesn't look like we have an article for that 2009 speech at the moment so I'm not sure it makes sense to keep this one for now, if it becomes more notable as time goes on obviously we could. Delete - per James, unless/until the White House announces that there will be a State of the Union in 2017, WP:CRYSTAL says we shouldn't have an article on one. Possibly redirect to State of the Union as an alternative. ansh 666 20:41, 24 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Delete - President Trump has accepted an invitation to address a joint session of Congress on Feb. 28th. However, it seems like they are continuing with the custom of not designating it a formal State of the Union. I move to create a new page similar to Barack Obama speech to joint session of Congress, February 2009 and add it under Unofficial Addresses in Template:State of the Union.
