'Egg and chips' is no more notable than 'Ham, eggs and chips' or 'Sausage, eggs, chips and beans'. Or any number of different fry-up ingredients, such as bacon, black pudding, mushrooms, kippers and kidneys. The article also seems dedicated to showing that egg and chips is a working-class dish. It's no more working-class than toast and jam; it's just simple food that everyone eats. Reforming the article to remove this bias would render it no more than a stub; hence nominate for deletion.
