'Egg and chips' is no more notable than 'Ham, eggs and chips' or 'Sausage, eggs, chips and beans'. Or any number of different fry-up ingredients, such as bacon, black pudding, mushrooms, kippers and kidneys. The article also seems dedicated to showing that egg and chips is a working-class dish. It's no more working-class than toast and jam; it's just simple food that everyone eats. Reforming the article to remove this bias would render it no more than a stub; hence nominate for deletion. - Keep Yes, it is more notable than the others. Just the idea of having multiple eggs for a luxurious dish like "Ham, eggs and chips" is falling out of the particularly British, and post-war, era of the simple "egg and chips". This isn't an article about a culinary dish, it's about British culture. Andy Dingley (talk) 15:04, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
- Keep The article makes clear, with multiple references and quotes, that 'Egg and chips' meets WP:GNG. Nor is it "just simple food that everyone eats" - a quick google indicates that it is a British dish. There is an article on the full breakfast, to which 'fry-up' redirects - this is clearly not a full fry-up, and the article explains the cultural connotations. The nomination for deleting it simply asserts that the topic is not notable.
- Keep. References demonstrate significant coverage in independent reliable sources to meet WP:GNG. It may be "no more working-class than toast and jam" -- whether or not WP:other stuff exists isn't all that relevant, but in any case we have articles for Jam sandwich (food), Peanut butter and jelly sandwich, Chicken and chips, Steak and eggs, Ham and eggs, Eggs and brains, Bangers and mash, Steak frites, Sausage and peppers, Biscuits and gravy, Bacon and cabbage, Climate change and potatoes, Liver and onions, Red beans and rice, so why not Egg and chips? -- Qwfp (talk) 19:35, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
- Like many dishes it has cultural significance, as the references make clear. Keep. Rathfelder (talk) 19:47, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
- Keep A WP:SNOW keep last time at AfD, and nothing about the current version suggests any reason to think differently about the subject, which is a clear pass of WP:GNG. Bakazaka (talk) 20:33, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
