Weak sourcing and Wikipedia is not WP:NOTNEWSPAPER. Clarityfiend (talk) 04:42, 3 April 2022 (UTC)

- Keep The New York Times wrote an article about her. I added it in. CT55555 (talk) 11:43, 3 April 2022 (UTC)
- Comment Additional sources, including biographical information: Cop's long fight to get justice for Alzheimer's victim who was dumped at a mall (NY Daily News, 2009), After 15 years, mystery woman identified (AP/NBC News, 2009), Family members are glad to know about 'Elba,' N.J. investigator says (NJ.com, 2009); previous coverage: For nearly 14 years, a woman no one knows (AP/ABC7, 2008), For a Jane Doe, Seeking an Identity and Immigration Status (NYT, 2008), The woman no one knows (NJ. com, 2008). - Weak keep as an event article - WP:BLP1E generally discourages an article on a person when they are 1) only covered by reliable sources
in the context of a single event
, and 2)otherwise remains, and is likely to remain, a low-profile individual
, and 3)the event is not significant or the individual's role was either not substantial or not well documented
. All three conditions appear to be met based on the sources currently identified. However, per WP:EVENT, there is some WP:INDEPTH, WP:CONTINUEDCOVERAGE in WP:DIVERSE sources, including a national WP:GEOSCOPE. My !vote would be stronger if sources more clearly indicated a WP:LASTING impact. Beccaynr (talk) 12:37, 3 April 2022 (UTC)- I agree with this. CT55555 (talk) 12:51, 3 April 2022 (UTC)

- Question for Beccaynr and CT55555, if this were to be an event article, what would it be named? Jacona (talk) 15:42, 19 April 2022 (UTC)
- All indications suggest that @Beccaynr is better at this than me. But to make a suggestion:
- "Identification of Elba Soccarras"? CT55555 (talk) 15:48, 19 April 2022 (UTC)
- One option could be The Hagedorn Jane Doe case, per the 2008 NYT use of the phrase. However, the event seems more associated with the Woodbridge Center mall (e.g. NJ.com 2008, NYDN, 2009), so Woodbridge Center Jane Doe case or Woodbridge Center mall Jane Doe case would probably be most helpful for readers. Beccaynr (talk) 15:59, 19 April 2022 (UTC)
- Also, as an event article, I would plan to try to rewrite this article into more of a chronological order as a case, instead of what currently seems like a pseudo-biography (as discussed in WP:BIO1E). Beccaynr (talk) 16:50, 19 April 2022 (UTC)
- Keep. A person with an extraordinary life that was duly recorded and reported in media around the world. Verifiably notable. The "event" was her life as a whole. -The Gnome (talk) 16:29, 21 April 2022 (UTC)
