Long plot summary and next to no relevance to the real world. No reception, no analysis, just a brief section on actors who played that role. My BEFORE yielded nothing useful (character's generic name does not help...). Per WP:ATD-R, this could be soft deleted by redirecting to List of Red Dwarf characters. - Keep. Powers, Tom (2016). Gender and the Quest in British Science Fiction Television: An Analysis of Doctor Who, Blake's 7, Red Dwarf and Torchwood has a decent amount of coverage. There is also some background in Howarth, Chris (1993) Red Dwarf: Programme Guide. Red Dwarf Smegazine (April 1992) has an interview with Hayridge. There are also briefer mentions in Tobert Llewellyns' autobiogrpahy; Dessau, Bruce (1992) Red Dwarf; Nazzaro, Joe (1994) The Making of Red Dwarf; and in some other issues of Red Dwarf Smegazine. - @BennyOnTheLoose Could you add a few sentences to the article, and cite these sources there? Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 03:02, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
- Sure. Found another source mentioned in the Powers book, but I'm not sure if I can get hold of it: Helford, Elyce Rae. "Reading Masculinities in the 'Post-Patriarchal' Space of Red Dwarf." Foundation: The Review of Science Fiction 64 (1995): 20–31. .Regards, BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 09:46, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
- The index entries for Hilly and Holly in Powers are: Hilly 109, 113, 116; Holly 35, 108–9, 111–13, 115–19, 126, 130, 133, 137–38, 145, 251–52. Howarth pages 40-43 are about Holly specifically and there are other mentions in that book. Regards, BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 12:02, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
- @BennyOnTheLoose Thanks for the edits. Can we add a reception or analysis section? Because right now it seems all we have is just some commentary on different actors playing that role. The article "Reading Masculinities in the 'Post-Patriarchal' Space of Red Dwarf" seems to be on ProQuest, and that's should be easy to get through WP:The Wikipedia Library. - Keep with sufficient sources identified by BennyOnTheLoose to meet WP:GNG and WP:NFILMCHAR. RebeccaGreen (talk) 10:38, 14 March 2025 (UTC)
