No evidence of sustained notability, only high school play. the only news about any "matthew gay" or "matt gay" I can find in the past 10 years are about a footballer with that name, not a basketball pro. There's no secondary sourcing or news coverage about Gay being signed to FIATC Joventut or his play with them. The original article as created only says "Gay helped FIATC Joventut in 2011 play for a championship" which is just one year of play, and has somehow never been reported anywhere, no evidence of Gay being on their roster ever. Further, it looks like the article was created by a SPA named "Matt" that also included a number of purported autobiographical details of that person's family leading me to believe it's a WP:AUTOBIO problem. lizthegrey (talk) 21:32, 14 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Delete Fails WP:GNG due to lack of WP:SIGCOV. I did find a mention of a Matthew Gay playing for Rochester College's junior varsity[1] in 2009 which likely is this guy. In 2011, Joventut was the runner-up in the Catalan Basketball League, which is a pre-season league, but nobody with that name played for the team at least in the semi-final and final. Furthermore, Joventut is a major Spanish team. Snowball chance in hell that they would even look in the general direction of a guy who hadn't played on a higher level that JV ball in junior college. Delete per above, fails GNG. Other than the newspaper mention above, I couldn't find other newspaper clippings or sources. ProQuest doesn't bring up anything either. There's a LinkedIn profile that's likely him but the source obviously isn't reliable. Tails Wx 17:43, 15 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
