I genuinely don't know what the point of this page is. We don't really need opinion polls for an election that has already taken place, and the next Japanese general election isn't for another four years (making "opinions" rather useless). The only links on the page are dead, to boot. Primefac (talk) 13:22, 27 October 2017 (UTC)

- Delete: I don't know the WP-FANCYNAME, but WP is not a repository for random collections of information, true or not. This really is not a "Topic" as such. Imaginatorium (talk) 14:48, 27 October 2017 (UTC)
- Don't Delete: Many elections, for example, the Next United Kingdom general election, separate the election page and the opinion poll page, see the Opinion polling for the next United Kingdom general election. This is mainly due to people want to only see opinion polls and seeming the election has just happened opinion polls will soon come in but users will have to wait until that time. - Don't you think it's a bit premature to create this article before any post-election opinion polls have been conducted? Mélencron (talk) 15:47, 27 October 2017 (UTC)
- It is slightly premature but it better to be prepared for when, inevitably, opinion polls come in. JDuggan101 (talk) 16:17, 27 October 2017 (UTC)
- I don't see a reason why a separate article has to exist now before opinion polls have been released, or for that matter, before even a substantial amount been published – why not simply include them in the existing article (Next Japanese general election) until there are enough to warrant a size split after a few months? It shouldn't take long to set up the tables again when needed. Mélencron (talk) 16:22, 27 October 2017 (UTC)
- I agree with your statement and have moved the opinion polling to the main article JDuggan101 (talk) 16:29, 27 October 2017 (UTC)
- Would that mean that we have agreement this page can be redirected to the main article, for now? Shawn in Montreal (talk) 16:40, 27 October 2017 (UTC)
- I guess so. JDuggan101 (talk) 16:52, 27 October 2017 (UTC)
- I'm fine with that. Pinging Imaginatorium as the lone delete holdout. Primefac (talk) 17:38, 27 October 2017 (UTC)
- No problem. I just commented that this does not seem a useful "article"; redirects are cheap. Imaginatorium (talk) 17:42, 27 October 2017 (UTC)
- Oh sorry. yes, I assumed Imaginatorium would have no objection to a redirect. I'll do so. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 17:44, 27 October 2017 (UTC)
