- Delete subject still fails WP:DIRECTOR and WP:GNG, as was the case in the previous AfD (which resulted in deletion) in May 2018. The article subject has yet to accrue the in-depth coverage and recognition that is needed to pass WP:DIRECTOR; this is not unexpected given that the director has only recently made his debut (a WP:TOOSOON issue). Some coverage exists in regards to his film (Irumbu Thirai (2018 film)) but said coverage concerns the film (mostly weighted towards the cast and standard film reviews), not the director, which is an issue per WP:NOTINHERITED. Nothing I have seen indicates that Mithran's directorial style was unique or innovative, and it is certainly not widely cited given that the subject's first film was released in mid-may 2018. Mentions of Mithran continue to be mentions in passing or trivial in nature, and some sources cited by the article (from seemingly reliable sources like the timesofindia) are [1] [2] bare-bones to say the least. The only source that seems to directly concern Mithran is an interview [3] with him, which is not independent of the subject and as such compromises WP:PRIMARY and WP:SIGCOV. In short, a new director who has directed one movie that, while well received, in no way stands testament to Mirthan's notability and thus qualifies the article in question for deletion.--SamHolt6 (talk) 17:02, 24 June 2018 (UTC)
