The result was no consensus. I see no consensus against keeping the page in place. Editors are encouraged to start a discussion to merge the contents to Zahid Malik on the article's Talk page. Owen× ☎ 13:54, 24 December 2024 (UTC)

Non-notable newspaper, coverage is mostly related to its founder, Zahid Malik. Fails WP:NCORP. I suggest to delete this article and then redirect to The Bangladesh Observer which was once a notable newspaper known as Pakistan Observer in Pakistan but was later renamed after East Pakistan independence. - I am not fully certain at this moment, but after reviewing the biography of the founder, I found that he received several top national awards, typically reserved for individuals who are highly distinguished in their fields. Furthermore, it appears that his principal achievement was the founding of this newspaper, which seems to hold significant prominence within the country. Based on this information, I recommend retaining the article, with appropriate improvement tags, to further enhance its quality.–𝐎𝐰𝐚𝐢𝐬 𝐀𝐥 𝐐𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢 ʕʘ̅͜ʘ̅ʔ 02:21, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- Redirect to Zahid Malik. Notability is WP:NOTINHERITED; awards and recognition were received by Zahid Malik, not by the newspaper itself. There are a few mentions like this one in BBC but coverage is not substantial enough to pass our WP:GNG criteria. 103.82.120.139 (talk) 16:50, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- Redirect to Zahid Malik, it's one of the major newspapers of Pakistan...Ngrewal1 (talk) 02:55, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
- Keep per WP:NEXIST. There is sourcing that discusses the newspaper, its editorial positions, staff firings: eg [1], [2], [3], [4]. FWIW...a national newspaper that's existed for more than 35 years in a country of 200 million people with a readership of 150,000...is *not* notable? Regards, --Goldsztajn (talk) 12:45, 23 December 2024 (UTC)
- Keep. This is clearly a prominent English-language newspaper in Pakistan, as evidenced by its inclusion in this paper found by Goldsztajn. Newspapers are rarely covered by other newspapers, so they tend to be harder to find sources on, especially in areas with challenging conditions for journalism like Pakistan (see the BBC article). I believe we should lower our standards for notability accordingly, an idea explained in this essay, and the sourcing found thus far is enough to convince me that this article should be kept.
