Delete I believe that an acceptable encyclopedia article could be written on this topic. However, this personal essay contains nothing worth saving and so anyone interested in writing a decent article should start from scratch. Cullen³²⁸ Let's discuss it 03:51, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Keep The topic is certainly notable as, for example, there's a book about Slavery in Ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia. The rest is then a matter of ordinary editing, not deletion. I've attempted to clean up the article's lead, sections, and references, to make it less "essay-like." If I were a history major or had the energy to do it, I'd be able to put more effort into giving this article more content. Keep. Thanks to editors who developed it during this AFD. But I agree with Andrew Davidson that if the notability of the topic is not in question (and arguments like wp:TNT indicate that it is), then the topic should be kept, with or without improvement during the AFD.
