This is an article about Muslim community belonging to Surat but there is no separate caste by name of Surti Muslims see [1]. The article is almost unreferenced and unwanted fork of Gujarati Muslims. If this is allowed then people will create articles like Kutchi Muslims for region Kutch, Ahmedabadi Muslims for town of Ahmadabad and so on. Jethwarp (talk) 02:33, 19 December 2013 (UTC)

- Comment I don't start to have an informed view on this but I see that this article is not a fork of Gujarati Muslims because it was created in 2007 here whereas the latter was created in 2008 here. Thincat (talk) 22:13, 19 December 2013 (UTC)
- @ Thincat - Thanks for pointing out that article was created before Gujarati Muslims article - however, in any case, we have scholarly sources on [2] Gujarati Muslims but do not have any source on Surti Muslims [3] and is therefore an original research and not WP:V so is a delete Jethwarp (talk) 06:25, 23 December 2013 (UTC)
- Delete, no popular people have been noted, no population figure. So why we need such article that lacks the basic details? Bladesmulti (talk) 17:25, 25 December 2013 (UTC)
- Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion so a clearer consensus may be reached.

- Redirect to the Gujarati Muslims article, after merging anything if appropriate. Nothing wrong with retaining this as a redirect. Nyttend (talk) 21:30, 1 January 2014 (UTC)
