not enough sources, may not meet notability guidelines - only one source references actual biography and doesn't mention any involvement with Simon Wiesenthal, Valerian Trifa or Boleslav Maikovskis. Alexthegod5 (talk) 22:01, 18 March 2025 (UTC)
"Withdrawn by nominator" per @Asilvering's comments and per NAUTHOR

- Comment. Hi Alexthegod5, can you point out which source you are referring to? The references do not support notability yet are you referring to a source out there by BEFORE and NEXIST? Also, if Golan is a well-established Israeli author, a pass of NAUTHOR would be likely. Instead of nominating for deletion, did you consider adding warning templates? gidonb (talk) 06:57, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Gidonb, thakns for your feedback. There are three sources, the first shows the link doesn't work anymore and redirects to a vietnamese gambling site, the second doesn't list Zev Golan or any of his works, and the last only has about a paragraph on his biography and only lists a few of the books listed on his wikipedia page. The page Valerian Trifa states that "Zev Golan was instrumental in coordinating between Simon Wiesenthal and Israeli Police in seeking a trial" but I'm not seeing any record of that at all on the internet, and I'm not sure it fits chronologically. A quick google search of Zev Golan only shows that one page with his biography, but his works may also be in Hebrew so that part I cannot tell. If you still think this establishes him as a well-establish author, let me know! Alexthegod5 (talk) 14:11, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Alexthegod5, we usually end up keeping authors whose work has been discussed by multiple reliable, secondary sources. If they just have one notable book, we usually just have an article on that book. If they have more than one, we tend to have an author article. Regarding the biographical details, if we have no sources for them, they should be removed. So if this AfD results in keep (looks like it will), do go ahead and remove any of that if you can't find sources for it. -- asilvering (talk) 00:37, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Asilvering, thanks for letting me know! I'll be sure to keep this in mind in the future - I don't often do research about writers on wikipedia. This nomination therefore can be considered retracted (I'll try to figure out how to do that in a moment if I need to do anything) Alexthegod5 (talk) 15:15, 25 March 2025 (UTC)

- Keep. Article is in terrible shape, but meets WP:NAUTHOR. Reviews in The Forward [1] [2], Jerusalem Post, Artuz Sheva. Longhornsg (talk) 16:19, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
- Keep. Easy pass of NAUTHOR. This article should not have been nominated. gidonb (talk) 14:21, 23 March 2025 (UTC)
