- The result of the discussion was: Rename to Category:TQ (singer) albums. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 14:30, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
- Propose renaming Category:Terrance Quaites albums to Category:TQ albums
- Nominator's rationale: Rename. The name of the article is TQ (singer). I am recommending rename to TQ albums over TQ (singer) albums because I don't think the disambiguation of the albums category is necessary based on what's listed on the disambiguation page, TQ, but I have no issue on rename to Category:TQ (singer) albums Starcheerspeaksnewslostwars (talk) 23:03, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

Category:Regional Districts of British Columbia
- Propose renaming
- Category:Regional Districts of British Columbia to Category:Regional districts of British Columbia
- Category:Regional Districts of the British Columbia Coast to Category:Regional districts of the British Columbia Coast
- Category:Regional Districts of the British Columbia Interior to Category:Regional districts of the British Columbia Interior
- Nominator's rationale: "Regional district" apparently is not a proper noun and, therefore, does not require capitalization in general usage (see here, cf. Regional districts of British Columbia). -- Black Falcon (talk) 18:42, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

- Nominator's rationale: For consistency with the main articles, which reflect the usage of each regional district, and to remove unnecessary disambiguation. -- Black Falcon (talk) 18:42, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
- Support. The "British Columbia" is disambiguation and it is unnecessary since there isn't any other jurisdiction that uses these names (or anything similar to these names). -maclean (talk) 06:03, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
- Agree. But at some point U.S. categories we need to be redone to reflect this - I don t think we should have too different naming patterns Mayumashu (talk) 15:52, 6 June 2010 (UTC)
Category:Northern Rockies Regional District, British Columbia
- Propose renaming Category:Northern Rockies Regional District, British Columbia to Category:Northern Rockies Regional Municipality
- Nominator's rationale: Per the main article, Northern Rockies Regional Municipality (website). The Regional Municipality came into being in February (see here) and replaced the former two-tier system of government of the Northern Rockies Regional District and the Town of Fort Nelson. -- Black Falcon (talk) 18:42, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
- Support. The 'Northern Rockies Regional District' organization underwent a name change and so this category should follow suit. The "British Columbia" disambig is unnecessary since there is no other similar 'Regional Municipality' to disambiguate it from. maclean (talk) 06:11, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
Category:Greater Vancouver Regional District
- Propose renaming Category:Greater Vancouver Regional District to Category:Metro Vancouver
- Nominator's rationale: Per the main article, Metro Vancouver (website). According to the article, "Metro Vancouver" became the official name of the regional district in 2007. -- Black Falcon (talk) 18:42, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
- Support. The 'Greater Vancouver Regional District' organization underwent a name change and so the corresponding category should follow suit. maclean (talk) 06:14, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
Category:Columbia-Shuswap Regional District, British Columbia
- Propose renaming Category:Columbia-Shuswap Regional District, British Columbia to Category:Columbia–Shuswap Regional District
- Nominator's rationale: Per the main article, Columbia–Shuswap Regional District. The official website uses the "Columbia Shuswap Regional District" (no dash), but BCGNIS and Statistics Canada both include the dash. -- Black Falcon (talk) 18:42, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was: rename. — ξxplicit 07:01, 12 June 2010 (UTC)
- Propose renaming Category:Media in Las Vegas, Nevada to Category:Media in the Las Vegas metropolitan area
- Nominator's rationale: Rename. Significant contents are not from the City of Las Vegas. Media covers the metro area. Some broadcast media is based outside of Vegas proper but may be licensed to the city. Note that having a Las Vegas mailing address does not mean that you are based in the city. Further note that news sources and GPSs do not distinguish between the city and the surrounding communities instead dumping everything into Las Vegas. See this for a similar nomination. Category:Airfields of the United States Army Air Forces in the Central Pacific Theater
- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
- The result of the discussion was: rename/merge thusly:
- Category:Airfields of the United States Army Air Forces in the Southwest Pacific Theater to Category:Airfields of the United States Army Air Forces in the South West Pacific theatre of World War II
- Category:Airfields of the United States Army Air Forces in the Central Pacific Theater to Category:Airfields of the United States Army Air Forces in the Pacific Ocean theatre of World War II
- Category:Airfields of the United States Army Air Forces in the South Pacific Theater to Category:Airfields of the United States Army Air Forces in the Pacific Ocean theatre of World War II
This is the same as Hmains' proposal, but uses the formatting of the "theater" categories that these will become part of.--Mike Selinker (talk) 03:57, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
- Propose merging Category:Airfields of the United States Army Air Forces in the Central Pacific Theater to Category:Airfields of the United States Army Air Forces
- Category:Airfields of the United States Army Air Forces in the Southwest Pacific Theater to Category:Airfields of the United States Army Air Forces
- Category:Airfields of the United States Army Air Forces in the South Pacific Theater to Category:Airfields of the United States Army Air Forces
- Nominator's rationale: UpMerge. Up merge to the sole parent's parent since the parent is already nominated for up merging. By creating these subcategories it creates the impression that the other subcategories in the parent are not in the Pacific theater. Another option would be to create Category:Airfields of the United States Army Air Forces in the Pacific Theater but I'm not convinced about the utility of that particular category. I do hope this is the end of nominations in this area for a while, but the deeper you dig, the more problems.Vegaswikian (talk) 00:28, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- keep/create/delete/merge as follows: The US Army and so the USAAF had two theaters in the area: 'Pacific' and 'Southwest Pacific' so keep Category:Airfields of the United States Army Air Forces in the Southwest Pacific Theater; create Category:Airfields of the United States Army Air Forces in the Pacific Ocean Theater; delete Category:Airfields of the United States Army Air Forces in the Central Pacific Theater and Category:Airfields of the United States Army Air Forces in the South Pacific Theater; place all the subcat and articles in the two categories that would remain. Upmerging everything to a single worldwide category does not allow us to place these articles into Category:Pacific Ocean theater of World War II and Category:South West Pacific theatre of World War II which we certainly ought to do to complete the contents of those latter categories. Hmains (talk) 02:20, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

- Support Hmains. I do not really know about this, but merging into worldwide category would destroy particularity. We should use whatever theaters (commands) existed. Peterkingiron (talk) 21:53, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
- Support suggested revisions. These categories probably have some other parents that are missing which would explain why the revision makes sense. I'll try and find then and add them to the existing categories. Vegaswikian (talk) 07:09, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
- Disagree but agree with deleting intermediate categories of “USAAF Airfields” particularly “USAAF Airfields in Oceania” as many of airfields in subcategories of it are not in Oceania but in Asia (eg Indonesia/Japan). Keep existing WWII theatre categories. Likewise delete “USAAF Airfields in Asia” category. But I am not sure what is being proposed. See also May 21 log of discussions about “USAAF Airfields in North America etc. Hugo999 (talk) 13:15, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

- Propose renaming Category:American people of Latin American descent to Category:American people of Latin American descent by country of origin
- Nominator's rationale: Rename. Category seems incomplete as it is currently titled. --evrik (talk) 15:41, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
- Comment. Doesn't this kind of go without saying? It seems to be how other categories are worded (Canadian, British, Australian, South Korean) in Category:People of Latin American descent. Good Ol’factory (talk) 01:30, 15 May 2010 (UTC)
- Keep as is, as it does go without saying, I d say. (However it would be entirely possible that a source reported someone's ancestry as 'Latin American', or more likely 'Central American' or 'South American' and they would then be listed on this page.) Mayumashu (talk) 15:39, 15 May 2010 (UTC)
- Comment I should have explained more ... right now, it is a duplicate of Category:People of Latin American descent and Category:Hispanic and Latino American . As a duplicate, it should be deleted, but if you look at the contents of the category, you'll see everything in it is by country. --evrik (talk) 19:46, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
- They largely overlap, but are not duplicate - Hispanic and Latino Americans include Spaniards (and Portguese?) and exclude Brazilians while Latin American Americans include Brazilians and exclude Spaniards. This category is part of the Category:People of Latin American descent tree, and for that reason should be kept at as subcat of Category:Hispanic and Latino American people. Mayumashu (talk) 14:45, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
- Merge to Category:Hispanic and Latino American people. I agree there is some redundancy here. I'm still not clear on why the proposal would clarify anything. Good Ol’factory (talk) 04:54, 27 May 2010 (UTC)

- Category:Sports Hall of Fame of New Jersey (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
- Nominator's rationale: another sub-national hall of fame. Inductees already listed on the article page Sports Hall of Fame of New Jersey Mayumashu (talk) 00:29, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
- Delete. I heartily endorse listifying these sub-national halls of fame, especially when they are sub-national and limited to one particular aspect of life (sports). Good Ol’factory (talk) 07:18, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
