The result of the discussion was: merge to Category:Images of Jeffersonville, Indiana. As BlackFalcon points out, this merge creates a category with only 43 images. Should it get substantially more content, then we can consider this again.--Mike Selinker (talk) 11:43, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Propose renaming Category:Images of downtown Jeffersonville to Category:Images of Downtown Jeffersonville, Indiana or Category:Images of Downtown Jeffersonville

Rename to Category:Images of downtown Jeffersonville, Indiana. There is no need to capitalize as "Downtown Jeffersonville" is a general area, not a formally recognized district— there is not even a Downtown Jeffersonville article (nor for Downtown Spring Street Historical District). But Jeffersonville is ambiguous, so the full name of the town is in order.- choster (talk) 23:51, 11 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- Comment Do you still think you can do that Vegaswikian? Because I'm still having a hard time moving all the images from Porter County, Indiana to the commons. First because I found more of them, and second because whoever is in charge of deleting duplicates seems to be taking their time doing so. Apparently there's more of a backlog of duplicates of images in the commons than anybody expects. ----DanTD (talk) 04:25, 15 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

    - Fine. I don't know of any images in Jeffersonville, Indiana(Downtown or otherwise) that have duplicates in the commons, but the ones for Porter County, Indiana are File:Beverly Shores Station with marker P4080034.jpg, File:St Marys Catholic Church Kouts.jpg, and in Valparaiso, File:Memorial Opera HseP4100023.jpg. I was able to get some of them in, but these three continue to linger for some reason. Also, for the record, I never said deleting the category is somehow not the correct action. I just said it's taking a lot longer to do so. My offer from the discussion on Category:Images of Porter County, Indiana still stands. If you can get them all into the commons, and delete the non-commons versions, I'm perfectly okay with deleting the categories. ----DanTD (talk) 20:59, 15 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
      - Slightly OT, if it's not too much trouble, there are also some duplicate images from Long Island, Westchester, Rockland, and Orange Counties in New York that could be deleted too. ----DanTD (talk) 22:07, 15 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

        I don't know what assist tool gets rid of duplicates. I already moved the three I mentioned to the commons, plus there are those that are in the New York categories, which I didn't specify that I've moved as well. Merge to Category:Images of Jeffersonville, Indiana. If downtown Jeffersonville indeed is a "general area, not a formally recognized district" (choster; 23:51, 11 February 2011), then we should not have a category for an area whose boundaries are not formally established. In addition, we do not have enough content (articles or media) about Jeffersonville to necessitate this type of split; for instance, merging the categories will result in a category with only 43 member pages. -- Black Falcon ^(talk) 20:14, 19 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Propose renaming Category:Ocean basins to Category:Oceanic basins
