- Nominator's rationale: per WP:SMALLCAT: Languages are going extinct, and are projected to continue to go extinct, at a rate of approximately one every three months (4/ year) [1] (also evidenced by these categories all containing <=4 articles), so decade categories are perfectly sufficient. Also, until very recently, it has also been common for languages to go extinct without more than an approximate date range, e.g. 5+ years, of the time of extinction being known, so yearly categories are too specific to retroactively populate accurately. Calbow (talk)
- Support per nom and for consistency with the rest of the tree. I wonder if it should be a dual merge, e.g. also to Category:2010 disestablishments. Marcocapelle (talk) 04:55, 13 August 2020 (UTC)
- Support "per year" is not very needful at the moment. Decade wise would be better for now. Tessaracter (talk) 09:30, 16 August 2020 (UTC)
- Support Not enough content for an annual category series. Peterkingiron (talk) 12:53, 16 August 2020 (UTC)
- Support per WP:SMALLCAT as well as cases where the year a language went extinct is not known precisely. –LaundryPizza03 (dc̄) 03:18, 19 August 2020 (UTC)
