- Rename Category:St. George's School, Newport alumni to Category:St. George's School (Rhode Island) alumni
- Nominator's rationale: consistency. Semper Fi! FieldMarine (talk) 16:03, 22 July 2022 (UTC)
- Support per St. George's School (Rhode Island). Oculi (talk) 21:12, 22 July 2022 (UTC)

Category:Bishops of Verden
- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
- The result of the discussion was: delete. – Fayenatic London 18:01, 3 August 2022 (UTC)
- Nominator's rationale: A redundant layer. For the bishops of Verden, there were only Catholic bishops. There were no Lutheran bishops. The category Category:Roman Catholic bishops of Verden already exists for the Catholic bishops. While there were Lutheran Diocesan Administrators, they were not bishops since they were not ordained. The Lutherans were Prince-Bishops but not Bishops. Both Catholic and Lutheran Prince-Bishops jointly have Category:Prince-Bishops of Verden as their parent which is correct. Laurel Lodged (talk) 12:06, 22 July 2022 (UTC)
- Support per nom. Apparently I created this category long time ago but I agree that Category:Prince-Bishops of Verden suffices. Marcocapelle (talk) 14:44, 22 July 2022 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was: merge, downmerging member articles, but adding the Damascus sub-cats to parent categories by governorate. – Fayenatic London 12:48, 3 August 2022 (UTC)
- Propose downmerging Category:Damascus Governorate to Category:Damascus
- Propose downmerging Category:History of Damascus Governorate to Category:History of Damascus
- Propose downmerging Category:Damascus Governorate in the Syrian civil war to Category:Damascus in the Syrian civil war
- Nominator's rationale: downmerge since the governorate consist of the city only. But add the Damascus city categories to the governorates tree. Marcocapelle (talk) 09:56, 22 July 2022 (UTC)

- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
- The result of the discussion was: keep (non-admin closure) Marcocapelle (talk) 06:48, 30 July 2022 (UTC)
- Propose merging Category:Dental companies of the United States to Category:Dental companies
- Nominator's rationale: The category that encompasses dental companies based in the US is unnecessary, and make it simpler, just like Category:Personal care companies. Ridwan97 (talk) 07:15, 22 July 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose. Companies and company law varies greatly between countries. We categorise most of them by country for those reasons. Rathfelder (talk) 10:44, 22 July 2022 (UTC)
- Keep -- The target contains companies that are either non-US or at least multi-national. For example Unilever is Anglo-Dutch. It is wholly appropriate to have national categories. It just is that we have no subcat for other countries. Peterkingiron (talk) 17:28, 23 July 2022 (UTC)
- Keep Valid subcategory by country. –LaundryPizza03 (dc̄) 18:09, 24 July 2022 (UTC)

- Nominator's rationale: WP:NOTDEFINING. Clarityfiend (talk) 05:42, 22 July 2022 (UTC)
- Support: Not only WP:NONDEFINING, but a bit promotional, too. Delete this and all other "benefactor" categories. Why? I Ask (talk) 10:58, 22 July 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose. Philanthropy is a defining characteristic and Philanthropists often are defined solely by or in large part due to their donations to/founding of higher education institutions, particularly to such institutions that are now public (i.e. contributing to public education). Multiple people in this category are in part defined by their status as benefactors, particularly Aaron S. French and Samuel M. Inman. To go further and get rid of all benefactor categories would put in question the definition and notability of philanthropy/philanthropists throughout Wikipedia. Sam WalczakTalk/Edits 20:04, 22 July 2022 (UTC)
- Support per nom. Aaron S. French and Samuel M. Inman are primarily known as businesspeople, not as philanthropists. Marcocapelle (talk) 05:47, 23 July 2022 (UTC)
- Support but the philanthropists might be listified in the article on the university. Peterkingiron (talk) 17:24, 23 July 2022 (UTC)
- Support with possible upmerge to Category:Georgia Tech people depending on the article. Tassedethe (talk) 00:33, 24 July 2022 (UTC)

Category:Tubas
- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
- The result of the discussion was: delete/merge, deletion and merging have the same effect in this case (non-admin closure) Marcocapelle (talk) 06:52, 30 July 2022 (UTC)
- Nominator's rationale: Only one page in the category; name also conflicts with the renaming of Category:Tuba (the musical instrument), to the plural version for consistency across categories. Why? I Ask (talk) 00:57, 22 July 2022 (UTC)
- Support. Nearly all potential items that can be listed for Category:Tubas can be listed under Category:Tubas Governorate, making the former a bit redundant. Additionally, it makes sense to delete the category as the sole article in Category:Tubas, Tubas, is already listed in Category:Tubas Governorate. Sam WalczakTalk/Edits 02:11, 22 July 2022 (UTC)
- Merge to Category:Tubas Governorate. If kept it would need to become "Tubas, West Bank" to avoid confusion with the wind instrument. Peterkingiron (talk) 17:21, 23 July 2022 (UTC)
- Speedy delete per C2F, contains only the main article. –LaundryPizza03 (dc̄) 18:11, 24 July 2022 (UTC)
