Propose renaming Category:Alumni of the University of Malta to Category:University of Malta alumni

Nominator's rationale: Mistitled. The longstanding format for cats in this tree is {University of Such-and-such alumni/faculty}. In fact, even Category:University of Malta faculty is formatted this way. Curbon7 (talk) 02:48, 26 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose per previous discussion. Both formats exist in the tree with national differences on this and this format is clearer - they're alumni of the university not alumni of Malta. University of Malta faculty looks badly named - the university use the term for the discipline divisions not the staff - and seems to have blindly copied the US format. - This is not EngVar; see Category:Alumni by university or college in Australia, Category:Alumni by university or college in New Zealand, Category:Alumni by university or college in India, Category:Alumni by university or college in Pakistan, Category:Alumni by university or college in South Africa. Of course, there is an exception to WP:SMALLCAT, so it is a matter of judgment whether these are useful for navigation. Personally I would merge the 1500s and 1700s, but keep the 1800s categories. – Fayenatic London 16:41, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Merge all my understanding of the smallcat exception is that we don't pick off individual years in the middle that are small but instead set a consistent round-number cut-off around the point at which there start being enough articles per year and merge everything earlier than that to decades or centuries. From my investigation. that cut-off point for establishments in Tunisia is around the 1920s, so all categories before this one should be merged. * Pppery * _{it has begun...} 00:48, 4 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose - for 1880s (7 articles in all) and 1890s (2 articles but to match 1880s) the targets should be categories for those decades. Support for rest, as there seem only to be a few items per century. Peterkingiron (talk) 19:55, 11 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
