- Propose merging Category:1996 abandonware games for Windows to Category:Abandonware games for Windows
- Nominator's rationale: Contains only a single article. This category is a survivor of a previously nominated set of categories that were also merged. It is best to just merge this category, because English Wikipedia currently has now ambition when it comes to having to need separate categories for video games by both year and some other aspect of the titles. QuantumFoam66 (talk) 22:47, 18 August 2024 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was: delete. HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 00:17, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
- Nominator's rationale: This is not a coherent grouping, just a collection of any religious group with a partial title-match. There are at least 3 distinct groups referred to as "Church of God": various Holiness Pentecostal groups, various Grace Communion International (Armstrong-ite) offshoots, and Members Church of God International. I have not checked every article, but the ones I checked are already in other "denomination"-related categories. Walsh90210 (talk) 22:28, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
- Delete as WP:SHAREDNAME. They are now all listed at the disambiguation page Church of God, apart from two redirects to Grace Communion International. – Fayenatic London 21:09, 20 August 2024 (UTC)

- Nominator's rationale: Marked as historical but completely pointless. Empty category which will forever be an empty category. This doesn't add anything. Gonnym (talk) 21:59, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
- Delete, I do not see the point of empty pages marked as historical altogether. (At most they should be kept as a redirect.) Marcocapelle (talk) 04:58, 19 August 2024 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was: delete. HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 00:20, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
- Nominator's rationale: Improperly named category newly created for just one thing. A category for this would be fine if there were several types of SNVI vehicles with articles to file in it, although it would have to be renamed to decapitalize the word "vehicles" -- but none do, so this isn't already necessary for just one thing. - Propose renaming Category:Nobility by country to Category:Nobility by nationality
- Nominator's rationale: rename for consistency, in conjunction with denonyms (as in the subcategories) we use "by nationality". Marcocapelle (talk) 11:15, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
- P.S. one may also argue that the denonyms are wrong and that the subcategories should be renamed instead. Marcocapelle (talk) 17:09, 20 August 2024 (UTC)
- Note on history: in 2021 Paul_012, Marcocapelle & Sillyfolkboy agreed on the reverse. See Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2021_February_11#Category:Nobility_by_nationality. – Fayenatic London 21:14, 23 August 2024 (UTC)

- Nominator's rationale: delete, there is no indication that military coups in three different countries were closely related. The articles are in Category:Military coups in Estonia, Category:Military coups in Latvia and Category:Military coups in Lithuania as appropriate. Marcocapelle (talk) 10:56, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
- Keep, There's nothing I see in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Categorization#Inappropriate_categorization that would preclude the category, and there's nothing about a category of historical events that states that they need a common cause. Given that all three had dovetailing effects on history, the category is useful. Calbaer (talk) 17:44, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
- WP:ARBITRARYCAT is applicable, there is no reason to pick these three countries in particular and not include Poland or any other countries. Marcocapelle (talk) 22:08, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
- Delete, agree with nom, arbitrary category. Renata•3 03:28, 23 August 2024 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was: rename. HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 00:21, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
- Propose renaming Category:Militant Korean independence activists to Category:Korean resistance members
- Nominator's rationale: rename, aligning with Category:World War II resistance members. "Resistance members" is clearer than "militant activists". Marcocapelle (talk) 10:39, 18 August 2024 (UTC)

- @Seefooddiet and Smasongarrison: pinging contributors to speedy discussion. Marcocapelle (talk) 10:45, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
- Please keep this civil @Smasongarrison; let's please not make this a repeat of this discussion.
- I support the rename and am potentially open to a merge because of current strong overlap.
- I do not support the claim that the subject is not defining. This category is for Korean guerrillas from one specific time period (1910–1945), when Korea was resisting Japanese occupation. Category:Korean guerrillas is for guerrillas throughout Korea's history; thousands of years, including during the Korean War. Korea has plenty of guerrillas over time, but they're just not really reflected in this category at present.
- Militant independence activists are thoroughly covered in Korea. Kim Il Sung was a militant activist himself; it is literally the basis for the regime's legitimacy. The South Korean and North Korean armies both claim descendency from militant independence activists. These activists have their own graveyards: Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery in North Korea and plots in Seoul National Cemetery. I'd provide Korean language sources but those were dismissed without explanation last time. seefooddiet (talk) 17:25, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
- Comment. I made my stance clear that I had considered your argument and found it unpersuasive. You were the one calling my responses condescending. I encourage you to assume good faith, rather than make assumptions about my perceptions of you. Mason (talk) 21:07, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
- Still doubling down instead of apologizing and moving on.
- Intent is not the same thing as execution. I don't necessarily believe you meant to be condescending, but I think many people would agree you were. Do you talk to coworkers like that? Chidingly asking if they've read something you've already linked? When you talk in a way that goes against social norms, expect emotion. We're a social species, that's rational behavior. I try to anticipate how reasonable people would react to my words and regulate my writing. I'm not sure you extended that courtesy to me. seefooddiet (talk) 22:30, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
- Please use personal talk pages for stuff like this. It is unrelated to the nomination. Marcocapelle (talk) 05:13, 19 August 2024 (UTC)

- Support rename per Marco. Seefooddiet made a sufficient case that the category was defining. I have no problem with Korean language sources. Mason (talk) 21:11, 18 August 2024 (UTC)

Category:Baltic provinces

- The result of the discussion was: delete. HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 00:22, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
- Nominator's rationale: delete, unclear scope because Livonia and Courland have never exactly been "provinces". They have been duchies, vassal states of the Polish Lithuanian Commonwealth and governorates of the Russian Empire. Both subcategories are also in parent Category:History of the Baltic states which seems to be a more obvious place to sit in. Marcocapelle (talk) 10:13, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
- Delete per nom. Baltic provinces is redirecting to Baltic governorates and indeed we already have Category:Baltic governorates Estopedist1 (talk) 12:28, 20 August 2024 (UTC)
- Delete per nom; no upmerge is needed. A 2015 CFD claims they were provinces of Sweden, but it was pointed out that they would have been "dominions". An unnecessary grouping, Category:History of the Baltic states is the correct location. Walsh90210 (talk) 23:16, 23 August 2024 (UTC)
