Nominator's rationale: Not all of these animals in fiction are specifically "predators". Due to the nature of fiction, some may not be. Others may only have aggressive behavior and not be a "predator" by species. I can already see some that are miscategorized simply because they are hostile and hunt the protagonist. Furthermore, the name is confusing as it may potentially refer to humans who are predators.     In this case, there are so few subcategories that navigation is actually hindered more by diffusing them than not doing so.     Commonly understood by who? I had never heard of the word "proboscideans" before, and I follow science news a lot. I'm not saying that my experience is the same as others, but I'd be confident that no one I know has ever heard it either because they follow science even less or not at all.   • Merge per Marcocapelle. This is highly pedantic and confusing for the average reader. There are categories with three or four subcategories, each with three or four more subcategories, all to achieve a subcategory with maybe three or four actual articles. Merging them would reduce the clutter and confusion and create meaningful categories with more than a few examples.     Certainly open to different/broader changes. The islands were sold by Denmark to the US in 1917 and a lot of plantations crossed that date and others closed before it so I don't know if there is an elegant solution.
