- Category:Lists of statutory instruments of the Welsh Assembly to Category:Lists of Welsh statutory instruments – The name of the type of legislation is Welsh statutory instruments, all lists in the category have been renamed to use "Welsh statutory instruments". The National Assembly for Wales was renamed to the Senedd in 2020. Referring to the assembly in these titles is unnecessarily imprecise, when the actual name of the legislation is "Welsh statutory instruments" not "statutory instruments of the Assembly" or "statutory instruments of the Senedd". This is a different situation to List of acts of the National Assembly for Wales and acts of Senedd Cymru from 2020, where the actual name of the type of legislation referred to the Assembly/Senedd. - Rename per actual article titles. Marcocapelle (talk) 18:02, 7 October 2024 (UTC)

Relisting comment: Two comments. First, noting for the record that OP was blocked in the interim (for non-sockpuppetry reasons). Second, the category was not tagged; I will do so now. If there are no further comments in a week, we should be all set for renaming.

- Propose merging Category:European theatre of World War II people to Category:People of World War II
- Propose merging Category:Pacific theatre of World War II people to Category:People of World War II
- Propose merging Category:Pacific theatre of World War II US people to Category:American people of World War II
- Nominator's rationale: The vast majority of these categories are not defined by the European theater of ww2 or Pacific theater. These are primarily people who are European or Asian nationals, but not associated with the specific military campaign. If not merged, it should be purged of nationals. Mason (talk) 21:41, 28 September 2024 (UTC)
- So do you mean that it's acceptable to associate people with a war but not with a military campaign? The problem is the original categorization of World War II people was too confusing and full of redundancy. In my opinion, the 'theater' categorization is merely a categorization by region to clarify the category and make it show what are the most important and relevant under the subject. Aronlee90 (talk) 02:37, 29 September 2024 (UTC)
- They're not associated with a campaign. Jews of World War II are not defined by the European military campaign. You're conflating region with military campaign. Not everyone in a region is associated with the war. If you wanted to break it down by region. What about Europeans who fought in the pacific? Would they go in both campaigns? This just doesn't seem helpful for navigation as it conflates several category trees.Mason (talk) 03:30, 1 October 2024 (UTC)
- What sort of redundancy? Marcocapelle (talk) 06:40, 29 September 2024 (UTC)
- You can check Category:People of World War II by occupation, which was recently created by me. For other examples, "People of World War II by nationality" overlapped with many people in other subcategories, such as Category:Nazi propagandists and Category:People of Reichskommissariat Ostland. Aronlee90 (talk) 07:54, 29 September 2024 (UTC)
- It is still unclear to me what the problem is. Articles are usually in multiple categories, that is not a problem anyway. And this nomination does not have the effect that articles will be in more categories than before. Marcocapelle (talk) 15:45, 29 September 2024 (UTC)

- Oppose, reasons given above.--Aronlee90 (talk) 02:39, 29 September 2024 (UTC)

Relisting comment: No clear consensus to merge; discussion on that point as well as Mason's alternative suggestion to purge nationals would be appreciated :)
