Category:End
- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
- The result of the discussion was: delete. HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 23:44, 19 April 2025 (UTC)
- Nominator's rationale: Entirely unnecessary and implausible category. The only article that's been filed here is Antichrist, if that gives you some insight into the thought process involved -- but even if it needed this (which it doesn't), there would still have to be a lot more than just one thing to file here before this needed to exist at all. Bearcat (talk) 18:43, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
- Delete, not a defining characteristic. The article is already in Category:Christian eschatology. Marcocapelle (talk) 21:20, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
- Delete no way to know what the scope of this category is supposed to be. Pichpich (talk) 23:54, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
- Delete per above. Gjs238 (talk) 00:31, 11 April 2025 (UTC)
- Delete. No obvious specific meaning. Confusing and nonsensical. Seemingly useless but if there is a need for a category then anybody can make a new one and give it a name that actually makes sense. --DanielRigal (talk) 04:28, 11 April 2025 (UTC)
- Delete: category has been emptied. Name is unclear as to purpose/scope, and I'm sure we already have dozens of categories covering any of what it could possibly be used for. QuietHere (talk | contributions) 07:24, 11 April 2025 (UTC)
- Delete This is a category without a defined scope and links to no main article. We are not mind-readers to guess the creator's intentions. Dimadick (talk) 09:05, 12 April 2025 (UTC)
- To be fair, the creator did respond to the deletion nomination by explaining their reasoning on the category talk page — but it has something to do with "articles that are emotional in mood", and still doesn't really have a ton of logic or sense to it. (Like, what do emotional moods have to do with the word "end"?) Bearcat (talk) 15:01, 13 April 2025 (UTC)
- Delete per nom. VegaDark (talk) 20:33, 12 April 2025 (UTC)
- Keep – The concept of "end" holds significant thematic relevance across literature, film, music, and other disciplines. Endings often symbolize closure, transformation, or finality, which are key motifs explored across diverse subjects.
Wikipedia already recognizes emotionally and conceptually driven categories (e.g., melancholic music, tragic films), which indicates precedent for this kind of thematic grouping.
Rather than deleting the category, a better approach might be to clarify or refine its scope—perhaps specifying domains like literature, religion, or media—so it can better serve as a navigational aid for readers exploring concepts of finality and conclusion. Ibrahimmusa4 (talk) 05:14, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
- We have Category:Endings and the article Antichrist that was earlier in this category is already part of that tree. Which articles would fit Category:End but not Category:Endings? Marcocapelle (talk) 05:57, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
- Delete Per nom and others. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 09:41, 18 April 2025 (UTC)

Category:Republic Commando
- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
- The result of the discussion was: delete. ✗plicit 03:13, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
- Nominator's rationale: Consists of the main article about the video game: Star Wars: Republic Commando and 4 redirects to Star Wars Rebels episodes list. There is no indication in the Star Wars Rebels episode list that they somehow belong to the same series as the video game, Republic Commando. Mika1h (talk) 18:03, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
- Delete per nomination. Doesn't explain the subject matter; readers would be better off checking out a fanwiki for this. QuietHere (talk | contributions) 07:20, 11 April 2025 (UTC)

Category:Fictional criminals by occupation
- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
- The result of the discussion was: split between Category:Fictional criminals by crime and Category:Fictional criminals. In the future, recreation can be handled via WP:G4, and the appropriate venue to make an argument that consensus has changed is at WP:DRV. HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 23:53, 19 April 2025 (UTC)
- Propose merging Category:Fictional criminals by occupation to Category:Fictional criminals by crime
- Nominator's rationale: This was previously agreed to, and nothing has changed since then. JDDJS (talk to me • see what I've done) 15:15, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose, because they are NOT the same. Category:Fictional gangsters, Category:Fictional mercenaries, Category:Fictional outlaws, Category:Fictional rebels, Category:Fictional vigilantes, Category:Supervillains, etc are not specific types of criminal charges, they are people who just necessarily do illegal things for a living. There's a difference between what kind of specific crimes they're committing, and what kind of career criminal they are. Some overlap does not equal equivalence nor redundancy.
- See and compare Category:Criminals by crime and Category:Illegal occupations, nobody suggests merging them, so why merge their respective fictional counterparts together? That doesn't make any more sense. But I'm sure someone will just ignore these points and mindlessly repeat "merge per nom" without actually rebutting me anyways. AHI-3000 (talk) 16:52, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
- Split to Category:Fictional criminals by crime and Category:Fictional criminals, the latter for subcategories Category:Fictional gangsters, Category:Fictional outlaws, etc. Marcocapelle (talk) 21:26, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
- Support proposal I do not see much navigational utility in this categorization. The creator's recreation of this category and persistent reiteration of their defense of it from last time, in defiance of the consensus of the previous discussion, seems to me to be disruptive. silviaASH (inquire within) 21:06, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
- @SilviaASH: That was well over a year ago. The ever shifting arbitrary "consensus" can change. AHI-3000 (talk) 23:01, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
- Yeah, it can, but it doesn't have to, and it doesn't seem to have in this case.
- If you wanted to recreate this category, the correct avenue would have been to start a deletion review for it, and assess to see if the old consensus was still true, or even just, like, I dunno, ask the people who voted against you on this issue last time. silviaASH (inquire within) 01:31, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
- @SilviaASH: That was well over a year ago. The ever shifting arbitrary "consensus" can change. AHI-3000 (talk) 23:01, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
- Split Per Marcocapelle. This is used in a vastly different way than Category:Criminals by occupation, which contains people in typical occupations who happened to commit crime. Meanwhile, this category classifies categories of criminal as "occupations", which is debatable at best. "Burglar" is not a legitimate occupation unless you're a burglar. Furthermore, knowingly recreating previously deleted categories falls under #5 here, "Fails to recognize, rejects, or ignores community input". ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 09:38, 18 April 2025 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was: rename. HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 23:46, 19 April 2025 (UTC)
- Propose renaming Category:Law clerks of Judge Learned Hand to Category:Law clerks of Learned Hand
- Nominator's rationale: This is the style used by the other two judge-specific subcategories of Category:Law clerks: Category:Law clerks of J. Michael Luttig and Category:Law clerks of Harlan F. Stone. Dennis C. Abrams (talk) 15:07, 10 April 2025 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was: keep. HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 23:46, 19 April 2025 (UTC)
- Nominator's rationale: Subject is not mainly a director, he has officially directed only one film (this ain't that). Kailash29792 (talk) 14:40, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
- Keep: Works by creator cats don't need to meet any minimum number of entries, and director is a defining characteristic of the film. QuietHere (talk | contributions) 07:17, 11 April 2025 (UTC)

Category:Female suicides
- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
- The result of the discussion was: no consensus. Thorough discussion; unlikely a WP:RELIST will help. HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 23:47, 19 April 2025 (UTC)
- Nominator's rationale: Violates WP:TRIVIALCAT; being female is too trivial and broad a characteristic for a suicide category Songwaters (talk) 04:00, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
- Keep this category, as long as the subcategory Category:Female murder–suicide perpetrators still exists. AHI-3000 (talk) 04:08, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
- Delete per nom and WP:OCEGRS. The subcategory should be manually upmerged to Category:Murder–suicide perpetrators, that proposal can be included here or it can be nominated separately. Marcocapelle (talk) 05:40, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
- Keep. There is NOTHING trivial about this, nor does this fall under WP:OCEGRS, which says "...unless that combination is itself recognized as a defining topic that has already been established (in reliable sources showing substantial existing research specific to the topic), as academically or culturally significant in its own right". The lead of the GA Suicide already says "By gender, suicide rates are generally higher among men than women, ranging from 1.5 times higher in the developing world to 3.5 times higher in the developed world; in the Western world, non-fatal suicide attempts are more common among young people and women." In other words, it is recognized as relevant, and Gender differences in suicide only confirms that: I'm not going to list the two dozen peer-reviewed, academic sources that support the content of that last article. Drmies (talk) 12:59, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
- Delete. This is not a meaningfully defining trait and I see no meaningful navigational utility in this category. silviaASH (inquire within) 14:46, 19 April 2025 (UTC)

Non-designated terrorist organization categories
- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
- The result of the discussion was: rename to Category:Right-wing militant groups and Category:Fascist militant groups, respectively. HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 23:48, 19 April 2025 (UTC)
- Propose deleting Category:Far-right terrorist organizations
- Propose deleting Category:Fascist terrorist organizations
- Nominator's rationale: Take 2, bundled this time. The last discussion was closed as no consensus for these two categories (though the other succeeded) without prejudice to renomination, so I am going to explain it better this time.
- Violations of the structure of all of the other terrorism categories. We do not have categories for terrorists or non-designated terror groups, because the word varies by jurisdiction and definition, so sorting them by ideology is a no-go. Many of the groups in these categories are not designated as such and some are only by some jurisdictions. We do not have a similar category tree for extremist Muslim terrorism, nor should we, because of MOS:TERRORIST. We can qualify it and explain it in the text of articles, but cannot in categories.
- In the past CfD, it was suggested that this be renamed to Category:Right-wing militant groups and Category:Fascist militant groups respectively a la Category:Left-wing militant groups, and while I am ambivalent towards the idea, most of the contents of these categories do not qualify as that (some are non militant groups, secret societies, political parties...). So if that is done this would necessitate a purge (and I don't think there is enough here to demonstrate the need for a fascist subdivision), but that is also an OK solution. So, keep, purge and rename as Category:Right-wing militant groups, or delete? PARAKANYAA (talk) 03:51, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
- Rename to Category:Right-wing militant groups and Category:Fascist militant groups so that we may have them as counterparts to Category:Left-wing militant groups and Category:Socialist militant groups respectively. AHI-3000 (talk) 04:11, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
- Fine by me, though as mentioned many groups in these categories do not fit the militant label. PARAKANYAA (talk) 04:13, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
- Rename to Category:Right-wing militant groups and Category:Fascist militant groups so that we may have them as counterparts to Category:Left-wing militant groups and Category:Socialist militant groups respectively. AHI-3000 (talk) 04:11, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
- Rename and purge per above. It would be helpful to ping the participants in the previous discussion in order to get a broader consensus. Marcocapelle (talk) 05:44, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
- Rename and, if necessary, remove the groups which do not fit under the new name from the categories. silviaASH (inquire within) 14:49, 19 April 2025 (UTC)
