Photo from Australia, first published in "1950s". According to {{PD-Australia}}, photos published after 1946 were still copyrighted as of the URAA date, and so the photo is still copyrighted in the United States. Wikiacc (¶) 02:21, 17 May 2020 (UTC)

The result of the discussion was: delete. As folks have pointed out here, a noncommercial licence is not allowed on Wikipedia. It is not enough for the file to be allowed on Wikipedia, it must also be allowed for reusers. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 07:55, 24 May 2020 (UTC)

Official portrait of a Canadian military officer from 2019, tagged PD. According to {{PD-Canada}} it is subject to Crown copyright until 2069. Wikiacc (¶) 02:34, 17 May 2020 (UTC)

- Comment Johny3936 has written a response at File talk:Brigadier General Colin Keiver.jpg. Wikiacc (¶) 18:59, 17 May 2020 (UTC)
- I saw that. It is nonsense. All that quoting simply states that works that are under Crown copyright might not require permission for use if specific criteria are met. But it all starts with the work being under Crown copyright in the first place. -- Whpq (talk) 19:04, 17 May 2020 (UTC)
- Whpq, You said it yourself, "Crown copyright might not require permission for use if specific criteria are met". I have met the criteria and I had explained it through what I had responded in File talk:Brigadier General Colin Keiver.jpg. If this is "clearly not PD and is under CRown copyright" then do the duty of explaining how so. As I had stated before "This has been supported by the Crown copyright protected works managed by National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces". Johny3936 (talk) 21:22, 17 May 2020 (UTC)
- You said it yourself. Crown copyright protected works managed by National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces (emphasis added). Using it in a way that doesn't require permission doesn't cause the work to become public domain. -- Whpq (talk) 22:22, 17 May 2020 (UTC)
- Along with your condescending use of language in each and every one of your replies, you have, once again, stated that this is not violating their copyright policies. Please go and thoroughly read through File talk:Brigadier General Colin Keiver.jpg as you will be able to see why it is alright to be used. I even know and have permission from the person in the image which is the most ridiculous part of all of this. Good gracious. Johny3936 (talk) 01:15, 18 May 2020 (UTC)

A formal PR picture (appears here, for example). It cannot stay on Wikipedia without a proper OTRS release note. Ldorfman (talk)

This image is claimed to be freely licensed because its unknown author released it to the public domain. That's not a valid PD claim. The image comes from a publication by the Ghana High Commission in the UK published in 1957. Based on Commons:Copyright rules by territory/Ghana, this would not be PD until 2027. The subject is deceased and my own search for a freely licensed image did not turn up anything so conversion to non-free is an option. Whpq (talk) 15:36, 17 May 2020 (UTC)

Image is claimed to be public domain but there is insufficient evidence for PD or any specific license. The provided permission link simply states "PS The image is free to be used". Whpq (talk) 19:00, 17 May 2020 (UTC)
- Update - the uploader has indeicated on my talk page that a permission email has been sent. This nomination is withdrawn so OTRS can review and handle it. -- Whpq (talk) 20:47, 17 May 2020 (UTC)

Not PD in the United States. Assuming it's an anon. work, it was PD in Albania in 2013, so it has U.S. copyright until 2038 (per URAA). Mdaniels5757 (talk) 22:49, 17 May 2020 (UTC)
