Hi ... I just created a stub article for Montana Highway 80, and for some reason the highway-sign graphic isn't showing up in the infobox. Can anyone tell me why? I'm not sure if its a problem with me, or the graphic, or the template, or what. Thanks! Pitamakan 16:34, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Might just be a glitch because it showed up for me. Duggie 16:41, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Fixed :)..----Cometstyles 16:47, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Thanks! Do you know if I should be adding that extra line to all my infoboxes, or was this just a glitch? Pitamakan 16:50, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- I think it would be safe to add that extra line :)..----Cometstyles 16:57, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
My question is this, how do I add someone's produciton company on Wikipedia the way other production companies are added for other artists? My friends are new to Wikipedia, and they want their company included yet when they tried to add their company, it was deleted. Why are some music companies on Wikipedia like AfterMath Records or Geffen Records as a description of artists business, but others aren't? Please clarify. Thanks
- You need to establish notability. Many articles added to Wikipedia which are about subjects which are not notable, or notable obscure subjects without establishing that notability, so they get speedily deleted. Some articles on record companies have proven themselves to be notable and worthy of an inclusion in an encyclopedia such as Wikipedia, such as the ones you mentioned. If your friends want to add their record company, they need to watch out for several criteria: notability as a company and not advertising the company in the article. In addition, your friends shouldn't add the company themselves, because it would be a conflict of interest which might produce an article without a neutral point of view. Taking these things into account, your friends' company might be worthwhile - if it is, I recommend adding an entry at the page for requested articles, where someone without a conflict of interest can start the article. Hi. I'm trying to change the way my signature appears so that it reads in color Tiamut, rather than the plain jane version I have today. How can I do that so that when I sign it appears automatically as above? Tiamut 17:42, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Tiamut
type [[User:Tiamut|<b><font color=#FF0080>T</font><font color=#800000>i</font><font color=#FF0080>a</font><font color=#800000>m</font><font color=#FF0080>u</font><font color=#800000>t</font></b>]] into the Signature box on my prefences and tick the raw signaute box and your done. Dep. Garcia ( Talk + | Help Desk | Complaints ) 18:07, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
And to be on the safe side just have a quick test sign on here Dep. Garcia ( Talk + | Help Desk | Complaints ) 18:12, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Thank you so much the prompt response! I did as you explained, but an error about html coding keeps coming up. Here goes test run. Tiamut 18:21, 20 May 2007 (UTC) The exact warning is "Invalid raw signature; check HTML tags." Does this make any sense to you? Tiamut 18:22, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Did you click the Raw Signature box? Dep. Garcia ( Talk + | Help Desk | Complaints ) 18:22, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. Tiamut 18:23, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Alternative:
- Edit the page and added [[User:Tiamut|<b><font color=#FF0080>T</font><font color=#800000>i</font><font color=#FF0080>a</font><font color=#800000>m</font><font color=#FF0080>u</font><font color=#800000>t</font></b>]]
- Then save the page, it should just have you signature on it
- Type {{SUBST:User:Tiamut/Signature}} into that box on my preferences again.
- And save
That will work Dep. Garcia ( Talk + | Help Desk | Complaints ) 18:30, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) Hey there. Thanks again for all your help. I added quotations around the color code numbers after noticing that they were there in your signature and Kazam! It worked. Cheers. Tiamut 18:32, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Sorry about running around in circles, but im glad your happy! :-) Dep. Garcia ( Talk + | Help Desk | Complaints ) 18:34, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Remember to subst it otherwise anyone can go to User:Tiamut/Signature and change stuff and it will come up in your signature. ~Spebi 08:09, 21 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- No, Tiamut's solution, of putting the font tags in quotes, is the correct one (the sig isn't accepted otherwise); substing a template is not advised. --ais523 10:10, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
I was recently notified by Answers.com that there are several articles where photographs listed on my personal website were posted without my consent (or the consent of the copyright-holders). I was able to delete the link within one article (Action Potential), but I'm having trouble searching for articles that contain my name, or links to my website. I know that the links are scattered over multiple articles dealing with human anatomy and physiology, but have no idea how to track them all down! Is there a special search function for this? Or is this an issue that the team at Wikipedia must address?
- Our search function is really, really bad. Use Google as follows: "http://www.google.com/custom?sa=Google+Search&domains=wikipedia.org&sitesearch=wikipedia.org" Clarityfiend 18:08, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- You can search for external link in Wikipedia using Special:Linksearch, (an example searching for images from your website: example 1). I am unclear about how a link to a website is a copyright violation, but we can help you track material down - just edit this section (using the [edit] button) to give us more info.--Commander Keane 18:27, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I realise I have only been registered with the site for about a week now but before I was registered I edited quite a few pages to do with all sorts and there were somethings I couldnt edit until I was registered, but I have noticed quite a few errors with the site, from pictures not loading to pages not loading altogether!!!
I was wondering where I stood as to getting admin/sysop status where I am not technically eligable yet??
Thanks Ben Carroll
- Hello Ben. Those pages were most likely semi-protected. You can read our protection policy here. Please also remember to sign your comments where appropriate and use new sections if you're bringing up a new issue (for example by clicking the '+' sign at the top of the edit box). Thanks. -- Seed 2.0 20:25, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Admin status comes to experienced editors who meet the strict criteria and pass through the RFA process. Consider it after about eight/nine months to a year of quality work in all facets of Wikipedia. Adrian M. H. 22:45, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

- Hi. I'm not too familiar with the game but this forum may be more along the lines of what you're looking for. Please also remember to sign your comments using the tildes or the signature icon in the toolbar. Thanks. -- Seed 2.0 20:33, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
hi, I wrote the e-book "Prism Signals." I happened upon a link to it on Wikipedia's Bridge(signals) page. I wrote an original synopsis of Prism Signals and posted it. The underlying theory is a mathematically correct thesis (never challanged after 20,000+ hits.)
Thank you for reconsidering the deletion.

- Hello John. I have unsuccessfully tried to find a record of the article you're referring to. Could you please double check the name for me? Thank you. -- Seed 2.0 21:50, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Never mind. I found it -- it appears that I misunderstood you. I thought you were referring to an article of yours that was deleted. In this case, content you added to Signal (bridge) was removed by another editor.
- In theory, you're free to add revert those changes (thereby re-adding them to the article). Please note, however, that we have certain guidelines and policies that help us determine what is appropriate for inclusion. I would ask you to please read WP:NOT and WP:OR. I realize that you have put a lot of work into your edits and I can assure you that we appreciate every edit. We are trying to write an encyclopedia though and, in order to do that, we must adhere to certain guidelines to make sure that the process we use is fair, reasonable and effective. If you still feel that your edits pass the tests outlines in the policies I've linked for you above, please feel free to re-add it to the article with proper citations. If you have any questions or require assistance, please don't hesitate to reply or contact me directly. -- Seed 2.0 22:06, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I created the page for Lovelace Ackah a couple months ago, and someone recently changed info about his personal life, more specifically where he coaches and how many sons he has. I got my info from the official site of the team he plays for, and they cited no source. Should I change it back to how I originally had it?
- Don't forget to sign your comments. Per WP:V/WP:BLP, you can remove un-sourced questionable material, particularly from biographies of living persons. Be tactful obviously (AGF and all that) and consider moving it to the talk page for discussion and possible source-finding. Adrian M. H. 22:38, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
