Template:User huge mistake
POV, userfy. KMF (talk) 01:18, 7 October 2017 (UTC)
Keep: This userbox merely states a personal view shared by many Wikipedians. Userboxes are intended to be personal. This type of censorship does a disservice to Wikipedia users. (POV refers to articles. I have no idea what userfy means.) Yours aye, Buaidh 02:13, 7 October 2017 (UTC)- Rename to something that more clearly implies its position. I don't want people to be surprised. — Mr. Guye (talk) (contribs) 16:34, 7 October 2017 (UTC)
- Comment I also support userfication. — Mr. Guye (talk) (contribs) 16:39, 7 October 2017 (UTC)
- Userfy (for those unfamiliar with the term, see WP:Userfication) to User:Buaidh/Trump was a huge mistake. Other editors who wish to use this userbox can transclude it from there. If kept in template space, rename to Template:User believes Trump was a huge mistake, for clarity. bd2412 T 00:04, 8 October 2017 (UTC)
- Userfy per BD2412 and Wikipedia:Userbox migration. Substantially all userboxes expressing political views are supposed to be moved out of templatespace and preferably to userspace. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 06:58, 9 October 2017 (UTC)
- Wikipedia:Userbox migration is neither a policy nor a policy proposal and as such should not be the basis of deletion or relocation. Yours aye, Buaidh 18:57, 9 October 2017 (UTC)
- But Wikipedia:Userbox migration is based on the principles of Wikipedia:Userboxes, which is a guideline, and says, "As content in User: space is traditionally given more leeway than in other namespaces, userboxes in User: space may not be as directly collaborative in nature as those in Template: or Wikipedia: namespaces, which are expected to adhere more tightly with policies and guidelines, such as neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is." If the infobox is not going to be userfied, as a second choice delete per WP:NPOV. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 03:42, 10 October 2017 (UTC)
- Just a note: I've created more than 2600 userbox templates. The nearly all these userboxes have been created for users other than myself. Yours aye, Buaidh 19:26, 10 October 2017 (UTC)
- Move: With consensus, I intend to move the following 27 userbox templates to the User namespace:
- Yours aye, Buaidh 20:13, 10 October 2017 (UTC)
- Consensus after the userbox wars is that political-message userboxes should be userified, go ahead. Dysklyver 16:00, 14 October 2017 (UTC)
- WP:GUS; don't delete, but don't retain it (or any other political opinion userboxes) in template space. Nyttend (talk) 03:26, 15 October 2017 (UTC)
