Resolved
 – an issue for WP:NFCR at this point. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 22:06, 14 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It is very improbable that the yahoo user that posted it on the group owns the copyright for the photography. http://www.oomyungdoe.com/graphics/csnapple.jpg while not being the exact same image shows clearly the same shot (note that I am unable to access the Yahoo! Group in question) -- lucasbfr talk 12:58, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've done quite a bit to fix the rationale up. I am afraid I am still learning a bit about how to load images onto wikipedia. The images are from materials copyrighted by Oom Yung Doe, LLC, as I've indicated on the rationale.
You correctly noted that both of the images are very similar but not the same. The reasoning for having two such similar photos is relevant to the article. At any rate, even though they are basically the same, I've tried to provide information about where each of them comes form. Hope that keeps them from being deleted. Cjim63 (talk) 15:16, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
How does this modified image meet the criteria for the Non-free_historic_image FUR? Quoting from the licensing template: [1] "it is a "faithful digitization of a historical event", "intended to illustrate the event"? Either of the images composing it would be. The official policy on non-free content [2] also states "Multiple items of non-free content are not used if one item can convey equivalent significant information.", this image does not meet that criteria either. --63.215.28.31 (talk) 18:43, 12 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Both of the images in this derivative are copyright Oom Yung Doe, LLC and can be found on the official website. Neither has been released to the Public Domain. Per Wikipedia policy, this image must be deleted. 209.247.21.147 (talk) 02:42, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As the image is now marked fair use, it is outwith the scope of this page. You can list it at Wikipedia:Fair use review if you wish. Stifle (talk) 10:24, 23 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Uploader claims to hold the copyright and releases under CC license, but the image apepars to be a scan and the uploader is very unlikely to be copyright holder. Uploader has a history of copyright violations. See his talk page history Whpq (talk) 15:34, 8 October 2008 (UTC) The creator died 50 years ago so according tp pakistan copyright law the picture is now in public domain.--BurhanAhmed 05:52, 11 October 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Burhan Ahmed (talkcontribs) [reply]

You will need to identify the source of the image in order for the claim that it is PD to be verified. When first confronted with the license problems, you claimed that all the images were taken by you with your camera. Now, you make the same claim, but only on the images which haven't been specifically identified with a source for the copyright violation. To be quite blunt, this appears to be a concerted effort on your part to slip copyrighted material into wikipedia. -- Whpq (talk) 12:21, 11 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've tried to assume good faith, but now we've entered the territory of outright dishonesty. It was curious with all these images, the ones I were unable to find an image source for, you made a claim to have photographed with your digital camera. Based on EXIF data, you've been making photos with a Sony Ericcson 810i camera phone. Yet the EXIF data for this image shows it to be taken with a Canon EOS 20D. And as it turns out, the image appears to be taken from http://www1.xjmu.edu.cn/gjjyxyen/illustration/picture3.jpg, the university web site. -- Whpq (talk) 12:39, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And I should also note that image:Sah xmu.jpg above was taken with a Nikon D70. Veritable dizzying array of digital cameras. -- Whpq (talk) 12:43, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You need to provide proof via an OTRS ticket (see WP:DCP) to show to validate this. But more importantly, the liocense claimed is that you hold the copyright which is now clearly not true and so you cannot claim that you release it under a CC license. -- Whpq (talk) 12:16, 11 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am wondering whether this is actually a public domain image. It seems pretty unlikely that the original uploader was the taker of the picture, or that he has the rights to release it as such. - sorfane 17:21, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The template says it needs to pre 1923, but the file name and cover of the magazine say 1924.[3] It was originally {{PD-old-50}} I'm not sure where that applies, or if I should revert to that version or not, but the current template is illogical. dvdrw 20:44, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's an issue of Kurt Schwitters' Merz, designed by El Lissitzky. As a German publication, it would fall into the public domain 70 years after the death of the author. Neither Lissitzky nor Schwitters has been dead 70 years. --dave pape (talk) 02:34, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
