Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2006 August 8
8 August
Useful when there were multiple Ashleys to disambiguate, but now that it has been merged into a main "list of" page, it has become a highly unlikely search term; people looking for Ashley will type Ashley without any parentheses. Hbdragon88 21:29, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
- Keep. It documents a pagemove/merger. Keeping the page assists in the documentation of contribution history (a requirement of GFDL) and directs the original contributors to the new location for the content. Rossami (talk) 19:44, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
- Comment The page move is already documented at Ashley (WarioWare). Hbdragon88 23:02, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
- Delete. There is no requirement to maintain page move history and there is no contribution history at redirect. -- JLaTondre 00:41, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
Mike (Wario) → List of WarioWare developers
Useful when there were multiple Mikes to disambiguate, but now that it has been merged into a main "list of" page, it has become a highly unlikely search term; people looking for Mike will type Mike without any parentheses. Hbdragon88 21:29, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

Battle of Bomis Korri IVa → List of minor Clone Wars battles
The creator of the redirect said that he accidentally put an "a" at the end of it; it should have been Bomis Korri IV. Redirect typo very, very unlikely to happen. Hbdragon88 18:34, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
- Keep because redirects are cheap. While an unlikely typo, the page does have history before the pagemove occurred. The redirect serves to direct the original contributors to the right place and helps preserve contribution history. Rossami (talk) 19:47, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
- Comment The page move is already documented at Battle of Bomis Korri IV, which has since been redirected as well. Hbdragon88 23:02, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
- Delete. There is no requirement to maintain page move history and there is no contribution history at redirect. -- JLaTondre 00:41, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
Peter NEYROUD, Chief Executive Officer of the National Policing Improvement Agency - Chief Constable of Thames Valley Police → Peter Neyroud
I'll wager there is absolutely 0 chance anyone ever comes looking for this namespace... redirect left from when this was moved to the more standard name.--Isotope23 18:16, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
- Delete for pushing the width of my screen to its limits. Or, we could try labeling it with {{R from shortcut}} instead. BigNate37(T) 03:02, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
- As long as the target article is kept, this redirect should also be kept because it documents the pagemove. Rossami (talk) 19:48, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
- Comment Honestly, who is going to search for this term? The page move has also been noted in the history of the new page, Peter Neyroud. Hbdragon88 23:02, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
- Delete. There is no requirement to maintain page move history and there is no contribution history at redirect. -- JLaTondre 00:41, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
AAAAAAAAA! → Uncyclopedia
Makes no sense. CharlotteWebb 12:46, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
- Keep. See uncyclopedia:AAAAAAAAA!. It's one of their favourite articles. MER-C 12:47, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
- Ah yes, but our article about Uncyclopedia makes no mention of that. --CharlotteWebb 12:53, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
- It used to, but that text got cut out. Check the revision history. MER-C 13:26, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
- The presence or absence of this redirect should mirror that of the relevant article text. --24.255.8.175 14:29, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

Crazy Stairs. → Relativity (M. C. Escher)
Better redirect exists at Crazy Stairs. The period became part of the title through bad wikification. Redundant link removed. BazookaJoe 02:33, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
- Delete. I don't believe the version with punctuation would be searched for. Rbraunwa 02:42, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
- Delete as above. ViridaeTalk 11:11, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
- Speedy delete as housekeeping. -- nae'blis 21:29, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
- Keep. Looking at the history, this was a good-faith contribution. While it's not likely to be useful for searching, it is useful for pointing the author to the right article. Redirects are cheap. Rossami (talk) 19:51, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
- Comment: redirect cost is not a criterion for keep or delete. A better way of nudging the author in the right direction is to inform the user using their talk page and avoid any ambiguity in the outcome of the RfD. BigNate37(T) 18:24, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
