IPad (fifth generation)
- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
- The result of the discussion was retarget to IPad (5th generation) without prejudice against a new discussion somewhere else about the fate of the disambiguation page. I'm not sure whether my earlier commenting in this discussion makes me involved, but I don't think anyone could see a different outcome here. Retarget because this is what the iPad 7 is now called. UpsandDowns1234 23:51, 2 April 2017 (UTC)
- Keep as the article states, the iPad Air is the 5th generation iPad. - CHAMPION (talk) (contributions) (logs) 02:54, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
- The iPad 7 is the same as the iPad 5. Just look on Apple's website. UpsandDowns1234 16:40, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
- Retarget to iPad (5th generation) instead. Emphrase - 💬 | 📝 07:41, 9 April 2017 (UTC)
- Retarget to iPad (5th generation). The numerical and spelled-out forms should go to the same place. – Train2104 (t • c) 14:35, 11 April 2017 (UTC)
- Retarget IPad (fifth generation) and iPad (5th generation) to IPad#Model comparison, where they can find any iPad they may be looking for. I'm also fine with keeping or retargeting to a specific model should a good case for a WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT appear. iPad (5th generation) is in violation of WP:INCOMPDAB. -- Tavix (talk) 14:47, 11 April 2017 (UTC)
- I'm not sure the dab page goes against INCOMPDAB: I'm seeing the parenthetical as a shortened natural disambiguator that could equally well be recast as "a fifth generation iPad". – Uanfala (talk) 00:47, 12 April 2017 (UTC)
- Perhaps it could be renamed. I'm rather adverse to having it show up at Category:Disambiguation pages with (qualified) titles though. -- Tavix (talk) 00:53, 12 April 2017 (UTC)

- Retarget to iPad (5th generation) unless someone shows that fifth generation and 5th generation have different nuances (maybe one was used as a marketing term for a specific device whilst the other just has the normal English meaning). Certes (talk) 15:28, 12 April 2017 (UTC)
- Retarget to iPad (5th generation),
with a hatnote or mention in the lead to clarify that it is not the iPad air.Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 16:32, 12 April 2017 (UTC)- The first meaning listed in dab iPad (5th generation) is the iPad Air, so I think that covers it. Certes (talk) 17:59, 12 April 2017 (UTC)
- Sorry I thought it was link of the iPad 2017. Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 20:04, 12 April 2017 (UTC)

He Lin

I propose this redirect to be either deleted or converted into a disambiguation page. If the target article name "Lin He" should be understood in traditional Chinese "Surname GivenName" order (have not quite understood it from the article itself), the redirect page should be deleted since it creates confusion between two different scientists of different name. Lin He is a female American (of Chinese origin) associate professor of cell and developmental biology at the University of California, Berkeley. while He Lin (zh:贺林) is a male Chinese academician (member of Academia Sinica), listed in List of members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences#Division of Life Sciences and Medicine (see year 2005), thus making a false impression of existence or an article about him and actually leading to wrong article. If the female associate professor's name is actually homonymic He Lin in Chinese naming order, but presented in article in "American order" - then the redirect in question should be made into a disambiguation page and the link in List of members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences corrected/clarified respectively. Tatewaki (talk) 22:00, 2 April 2017 (UTC)
- The UC Berkeley researcher's surname is "He", given name is "Lin" per (in Chinese). She was born and educated in China (and as the link shows is known in China by her Chinese name 何琳 "He Lin"), so the redirect should not be deleted. Timmyshin (talk) 22:17, 2 April 2017 (UTC)
- Keep. I added the
{{Chinese name}}
tag to clarify that He is the family name since He and Lin are both possible family names. Also He Lin with family name Lin should not be cross-over to ZH Wikipedia as they are not the same person. If He Lin(family name Lin)is notable for EN Wikipedia then you could create an entry here and do a two dabs. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 00:27, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
- Upon further research, there is a He Lin (family name He) in China who is also a professor in microbiology, but a member of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a full professor instead of associate professor [1]. if he is notable, then you might have to go with birth year or list of the institution as a dab. 01:14, 3 April 2017 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by AngusWOOF (talk • contribs)
- Keep. There may be other people in the world called Lin He or He Lin but since there's only one with a EN Wikipedia article there's nothing to be disambiguated. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 11:54, 3 April 2017 (UTC)

- List of additional MythBusters cast members → List of MythBusters cast members (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Since all of the MythBusters cast members are listed on its target page, it is unclear what "additional" refers to and the redirect creates a circular reference to itself, similar to the use of the word "other". (However, for a redirect with essentially no incoming links [this redirect is a {{R from move}}], it sure gets a lot of page views...) Steel1943 (talk) 18:20, 2 April 2017 (UTC)
Comment would the talk page detail for this redir be enough to keep it around?AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 01:25, 3 April 2017 (UTC)- @AngusWOOF: I'm oblivious to what you meant by that. Could you please clarify? Steel1943 (talk) 21:18, 5 April 2017 (UTC)

Unused redirect Jim in Georgia Contribs Talk 02:20, 2 April 2017 (UTC)
- Comment: Please include Talk:Thomas Peacock (American Army Officer), also unused.--Jim in Georgia Contribs Talk 02:22, 2 April 2017 (UTC)
- Comment if this redirect is deleted, the talk page will be deleted per WP:G8, so there is no need to nominate it together. - CHAMPION (talk) (contributions) (logs) 04:58, 2 April 2017 (UTC)
- Keep The nominator's claim that this is an unused redirect is incorrect, it has received an average of 51 views/day, otherwise, it is not in any way harmful or misleading, so deletion would have no benefit. - CHAMPION (talk) (contributions) (logs) 05:02, 2 April 2017 (UTC)
- Keep per Champion. This is actually a well used redirect - use is not synonymous with the number of incoming links, and per the third bullet at the very top of WP:RFD "Redirects should not be deleted just because they have no incoming links." Also, this is a {{R from move}} which are routinely kept unless there is a very good reason not to. Thryduulf (talk) 09:09, 2 April 2017 (UTC)
- Comment Thanks for the comments. The redirect is indeed a left from a rename. I cleaned up the links before submitting "American" (vs. "United States") for deletion. The target page is also up for deletion. I was unaware of the G8 provision and am now smarter.--Jim in Georgia Contribs Talk 15:56, 2 April 2017 (UTC)

These are all "faulty crystal ball" redirects. There's been rumors of a Halo feature film as far back as 2007, but it has never gotten off the ground. As such, there's not a Halo film from any of these years and should be deleted as misleading. -- Tavix (talk) 00:50, 2 April 2017 (UTC)
