• Oppose, do not retarget. Due to the common name for San Jose, California being "San Jose" without the acute accent on the "e", and official name being "San José" with the acute accent on the "e", there have been various move proposals on it (see previous 2016 RM) and its related articles such as San Jose International Airport (see previous discussion removing the accent), San Jose Public Library (see discussion removing the accent), San Jose State University (see previous discussion keeping it without the accent) and Berryessa/North San José station (see previous RM adding the accent). And the city of San Jose, CA does not help matters when it officially accepts both depending on whether it is upper- or lowercase, among others, as stated in the last paragraph of San Jose, California#Name. Therefore there is not a clear cut WP:SMALLDETAILS distinction between having the acute accent and not having it. And thus we should keep the status quo and have San Jose continue to redirect to San José and keep the latter as the disambig page (because there are more existing entries with the accent). • Comment - This nomination is very confusing due to some errors made when nominating. San Jose is currently a redirect to the disambiguation page San José (which is not a redirect at all). Note also there is a discussion on Talk:San José#Proposing a split of redirects about this same issue raised by the nom.   I do not know if RFD may be the right venue either. The proposal seems to involve converting the disambiguation page into a primary redirect, then splitting the resulting moved disambiguation page based on whether entries have the accented "é" or not. Either way this would contradict both WP:DIACRITICS and MOS:DIACRITICS when they state that you should still provide redirects from alternative forms that use or exclude diacritics. • Note that I have removed San José from the nomination, because it is not a redirect (it's a disambiguation page), and I have corrected the current target for San Jose. The nomination suggests that San José be a redirect to San José, Costa Rica; this would require a requested move discussion to consider moving San José to San José (disambiguation) (i.e., Rfd is the wrong venue for discussing this proposal, as it doesn't involve a current redirect). This is just a fragment of the full systematic name "6-[1-(2-Hydroxy-6-methylbenzoyl)oxyethyl]-1-phenazinecarboxylic acid", no evidence this part is actually used as a shortened form for this specific compound. However, some databases have a standard of inverting the name to give the class first, so for example PubChem has as a single synonymous term "1-Phenazinecarboxylic acid, 6-[1-[(2-hydroxy-6-methylbenzoyl)oxy]ethyl]-". The synonomous phenazine-1-carboxylic acid is mentioned in 8 articles and is red-linked in one. Delete until a stub can be created for the correct compound. @DMacks: I'm not sure what would be the most common name for the compound. It looks like it may be Tubermycin B. It is also known as Shenqinmycin. CAS refers to it as 1-Phenazinecarboxylic acid. Based on a quick perusal, it looks the status quo on WP favors the Phenazine-1-carboxylic acid syntax, e.g. Anthracene-9-carbaldehyde, Naphthalene-2-sulfonic acid if it lacks a trivial name. A very confusing redirect. I clicked on this name from Fitz Hughes Predators expecting to get an article on this footballer but instead was redirected to an article on a pornographic actor in which 'Gideon Richards' isn't even mentioned once! Looking at John Holmes' credits, I can't even see that he ever played a character of this name so have no idea why this redirect was created in 2007. Ambiguous term. I've seen "green state" to refer to states where the Green Party has control, states that are environmentally friendly, or states where cannabis is legal. Given the wide variety of uses I've seen for the term, this does not seem to be the ideal target. Either delete or cross-redirect to Wiktionary. Deletion to aid internal search results does not help as there are thousands of entries, all pointing to Bowling Green State University.
