To have “San Jose” redirect to the California city and “San José” redirect to the Costa Rica city

Oppose Keep as dab, and no accent redirect to the dab. Happy Editing--IAmChaos 02:29, 5 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This might be worth closing early as this overlaps with the concurrent discussion at Talk:San José#Proposing a split of redirects; this is a dupliate discussion but only addresses half the issue being considered per A7V2. Mdewman6 (talk) 03:59, 7 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned at target. 1234qwer1234qwer4 15:01, 21 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose – Even though it's not mentioned at the target, it is a name within the group discussed there, and points the way toward future improvement. Dicklyon (talk) 16:31, 21 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment There is no longer a section or anchor for borides, but YbB12 definitely exists and could be mentioned at the target. ComplexRational (talk) 22:05, 21 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, not just that it's not mentioned at target, but that target section doesn't exist. He should have said. The fix is obviously not "delete". Dicklyon (talk) 03:54, 22 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep (ie oppose delete) - Seems I created the redirect, and made the target section [empty at that time] (but it was quickly deleted : "14:05, 16 September 2018‎ DePiep 38,043 bytes −92‎ →‎Borides: could be OK & GF but not as an empty section") - I'm inclined to undo the deletion of the target empty section, and look for the sources that prompted me to create the redirect in the first place. - Rod57 (talk) 09:53, 24 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

1-Phenazinecarboxylic acid

This is just a fragment of the full systematic name "6-[1-(2-Hydroxy-6-methylbenzoyl)oxyethyl]-1-phenazinecarboxylic acid", no evidence this part is actually used as a shortened form for this specific compound. However, some databases have a standard of inverting the name to give the class first, so for example PubChem has as a single synonymous term "1-Phenazinecarboxylic acid, 6-[1-[(2-hydroxy-6-methylbenzoyl)oxy]ethyl]-". Doesn't mean "1-Phenazinecarboxylic acid" is itself a synonym. DMacks (talk) 19:17, 4 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@DMacks: I'm not sure what would be the most common name for the compound. It looks like it may be Tubermycin B. It is also known as Shenqinmycin. CAS refers to it as 1-Phenazinecarboxylic acid. Based on a quick perusal, it looks the status quo on WP favors the Phenazine-1-carboxylic acid syntax, e.g. Anthracene-9-carbaldehyde, Naphthalene-2-sulfonic acid if it lacks a trivial name. It is the name of a specific independent, non-notable organisation (whose website is this) which is not mentioned at the target anymore.
Therefore, I recommend deletion. Veverve (talk) 18:52, 4 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Peculiarities of the genocide of the Tutsis in regards to other genocides

Unlikely search term, not a proper name of a published paper nor is this dimension of the genocide really discussed in detail at the target. Originally created as an article outline in 2005, but no content was ever added other than an infobox, and it was converted to a redirect later that year. Deletion seems appropriate until if/when an article specifically analyzing the Rwandan genocide in comparison to other genocides can be written. signed, Rosguill talk 18:35, 4 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A very confusing redirect. I clicked on this name from Fitz Hughes Predators expecting to get an article on this footballer but instead was redirected to an article on a pornographic actor in which 'Gideon Richards' isn't even mentioned once! Looking at John Holmes' credits, I can't even see that he ever played a character of this name so have no idea why this redirect was created in 2007. This redirect does not benefit the encyclopaedia in any way so should be deleted. Spiderone(Talk to Spider) 18:12, 4 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Seems implausible. If you actually typed this in and the redirect didn't exist "Calvin Harris" would immediately pop up in suggestions. Rubbish computer Ping me or leave a message on my talk page 17:04, 4 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This redirect should be deleted because Parmotrema tinctorum is a species, not a genus. In addition, the page parmotrema does not have any information on Parmotrema tinctorum so it might cause confusion for users. Roostery123 (talk) 11:22, 4 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was disambiguate. A link to the Wiktionary entry will also be placed on the dab. (non-admin closure)Ceso femmuin mbolgaig mbung, mellohi! (投稿) 07:57, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ambiguous term. I've seen "green state" to refer to states where the Green Party has control, states that are environmentally friendly, or states where cannabis is legal. Given the wide variety of uses I've seen for the term, this does not seem to be the ideal target. Either delete or cross-redirect to Wiktionary.
