Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Inquietudeofcharacter

In order to remain listed at Wikipedia:Requests for comment/User conduct, at least two people need to show that they tried to resolve a dispute with this user and have failed. This must involve the same dispute with a single user, not different disputes or multiple users. The persons complaining must provide evidence of their efforts, and each of them must certify it by signing this page with ~~~~. If this does not happen within 48 hours of the creation of this dispute page (which was: 19:05, 30 August 2009 (UTC)), the page will be deleted. The current date and time is:

17:32, 8 May 2025 (UTC).

Statement of the dispute

Inquietudeofcharacter has erased valid source material from an article, including references in support of pertinent information that has long been presented prior to his or her advent. Also, he or she has repetitively labelled my new talk page with unfounded allegations of vandalism. Pursuant to opening a case with MedCab, he or she never really acknowledged the problems, and refused to follow through with mediation.

Desired outcome

At least two things: the article should describe the university as the first established in Boston; and the comments on my talk page should be erased, perhaps to include an apology. Another point is an appropriate place for an image of Collegiate Gothic architecture in accordance with textual presentation.

Frankly, I would prefer that the user simply leave the page alone, and allow persons who care about the content to work unfettered. Stylistic problems continue, but Inquietudeofcharacter refuses to behave constructively when alerted to them.

Description

This may be repeptitive, as it is mostly discussed above: 1) See my talk page. 2) See the history of the article (going back 100 edits) he or she has repeatedly altered it; and used, at best, non-notable skills. 3) Print and online referenced facts should not be erased.

Evidence of trying to resolve the dispute

From July 19 through August 12, subsequent to his or her erasing sourced facts and then repetitively alleging vandalism on my part, I attempted informal mediation

Evidence of failing to resolve the dispute

The allegations are still on my user page, he or she still changes the article, even during attempted mediation, and the case is closed because the user refused to continue while these problems were being addressed.

Hi, I logged in as a new user to provide needed stylistic attention to an article for Boston College on Wikipedia.org. Unfortunately, as many as two existing users, and especially one who has subsequently changed his or her name to Inquietudeofcharacter, were stubborn to the point of being detractionary. My response was to go to Wikipedia's Mediation Cabal, and patiently raise issues there. Yet, the other party continued with obstinancy and refused to continue with the [| case], as facilitated by The Wordsmith.

Among the concerns raised are the fact that the user in question has 'tattooed' my own page with--unfounded--notices about vandalism. They are unwelcome, as is his or her repetitive and poor editing of the article, which also brings me here to report problems. Upon seeking request for guidance from the former mediator, who suggests this resource, it is evident tht the problematic one has been monitoring my actions, though attemtping a direct dialogue is not advisable. 19:05, 30 August 2009 (UTC)
