The purpose of this straw poll

The purpose of this straw poll is to address userbox namespace location and related issues. It intentionally does not address issues related to userboxes and categories. A separate straw poll can cover that topic. The straw poll starts with a “userbox pegboard.” Think of this as a way to “pin” your username to a choice of where (in what namespace) a certain type of userbox should go. Comments also are welcome. The next section includes a set of assertions about related userbox location issues.You can show your strong / weak / simple support or opposition, with or without comment, for each statement.

How to use the userbox pegboard: Place your username (see examples – using three tildes "#~~~") in any cell for which you think it is the best match for a userbox type and namespacecombination.Types in ALL CAPS represent groups of types.Add any comments under the applicable group or on the talk page.

• Basically anything which is solely about opinion belongs in userspace, whether Wikipedia-related or not; anything which is about your role on Wikipedia should be in template-space, as it's useful to other editors.
