Wikipedia:WikiProject Missing encyclopedic articles/Global Names Index/A

Follow the instructions as based on Wikipedia:WikiProject Missing encyclopedic articles/Global Names Index. Once an article on a genus is created, remove all the additional naming and species that do not have enough info at the "species" section (granted that the species are written in the genus page and wikilinked). If you have any concerns, please write them on the talk page of the main page for greater visibility. Any troubled/difficult names that could be potential errors are to be placed at the SFNI list.

  • Articles that no info can be found about.
  • Aaabat -- wspjstorPeflorasgsgbg - Made comment to talk page (Vesper bat)
  • Aaba -- wspjstorPeflorasgsgbg (de Laubenfels 1936) - Made comment to talk page (Sponges)
  • Aaceles undulatipes -- wspjstorPeflorasgsgbg (Redt.) (Pressumably redirect to Aceles undulatipes if following two other species trends.
  • Aachenia -- wspjstorPeflorasgsgbg (E. Knobloch 1973) - An extinct genus from the gymnosperms. All I managed to find was this: [1], [2] then these two journals: [3] and [4] which then link to this journal published by E.Knobloch in 1973: Knobloch, E.A., 1972, Aachenia debeyi n. gen., n. sp. – eine neue Konifere aus dem Senon von Aachen: Neues Jahrbuch für Geologie und Paläontologie Monatshefte, v. 1972, p. 400-406. - Which is in a different language and is impossible to find on the net. Leave at SFNI for now until journal can be accessed. Species mentioned is Aachenia debeyi.
  • Aachenipollis -- wspjstorPeflorasgsgbg (W. Krutzsch 1971) - Species seems to be only Aachmipollis aachenensis [5],. More info is given here but need to subscribe to access: [6]. This confused me: [7]. Apparently it is a cellular life: [8] but seems to be hard to put it in a group. Need to access original publication by W.Krutzsch from 1971.
  • Aacntholyda modesta -- wspjstorPeflorasgsgbg MacGillivray 1923. Only info given is here: [9]. Possibly a misspelling of Acantholyda but specific species known as Acantholyda modesta is under a different family according to this: [10]. Other info found here: [11] and [12]. If under the same family, it would have been a case of redirect one species synonym to another.
Monitore Zoologico Italiano, 57 1949: pp. 41-59. [Zoological Record Volume 87]. Possibly a misspelling of Ascolaimus? According to this: [13] and [14]
  • Aactinocyclus -- wspjstorPeflorasgsgbg with the only species being: * Aactinocyclus pyrotechnicus -- wspjstorPeflorasgsgbg - Thought maybe it was a spelling of [[15]] or of Actinocyclus_(diatom) but both of those are in a different kingdom from the one described here in the GNI (kingdom Protista)
  • Aades aegypti -- wspjstorPeflorasgsgbg Misspelling of Aedes aegypti (Perhaps deserves redirect?)
  • Aaeylia abstracta -- wspjstorPeflorasgsgbg - A moth from Burma?
  • Aaera
  • Acera (genus) - Redirect this and above to Akera?
  • Aaeylia bucephalina -- wspjstorPeflorasgsgbg (Was not able to find anything about Aaeylia either}.
  • Aage -- wspjstorPeflorasgsgbg - Apparently a phylum, with the only class being Holtimmen with the only genus being Pilularia (there is a fungus and plant genus of the same name in a different class) and there is even a Pilularia globulifera under the plant genus. Aage might be a typo of some sort?
  • Aaglapcrinus -- wspjstorPeflorasgsgbg Webster 1981 - A typo of Aaglaocrinus most likely.
  • Aahithis -- wspjstorPeflorasgsgbg Schallreuter 1988 - A fossil? Google lead me to this: [16], [17] and [18] with one species being mentioned (Aahithis varia)
  • Aaida (A.) cossyphoides Antoine 1949 -- wspjstorPeflorasgsgbg - Meant to be Aaida cossyphoides, a genus of Aaida? Unable to find anything. Appears to not be the same as the genus Aida (genus). Quite possibly a genus synonym of Asida (genus). I think the (A.) is meant to be short for Asida.
  • Aaida (Granulasida) mater Espanol Coll 1951 -- wspjstorPeflorasgsgbg - Same as above. Is it meant to be Aaida mater or Aaida granulasida or it is a part of Granulasida? Are they a typo of Asida (genus)?
  • Aaio otus otus -- wspjstorPeflorasgsgbg - Incorrect version of Asio otus otus. Redirect if deemed necessary once subspecies is created.
  • Aal -- wspjstorPeflorasgsgbg - Apparrently a class in the "Kai" phylym with the only species in the class being Pilularia globulifera which is contrary to what most of the other sources say about that genus/species. Quite an odd error/typo IMHO.
