Atlantic hurricane articles

Pre–1949

The below tables show seasons before 1850, and lists storms from 1851 to 1949, based on their number from HURDAT.

Named storms (1950–present)

This table shows only storms named from the tropical storm list of names for the respective year. This excludes any subtropical storms named from the alternate list of the early 1970s and any storms which did not receive a name. For convenience Hurricane Alice is listed as part of the 1955 season as it was named, not as it formed. Bold letters indicate retired names.

Unnamed Storms (before 1851)

Any storm in the north Atlantic which has an article before 1851 goes here. The names give the year of the storm and an abbreviation of its common name.

Other Storms (1950–present)

Any tropical depressions, unnamed tropical storms and hurricanes after 1950 are listed here. Other significant storms give the year of the storm and an abbreviation of its common name. However tropical depressions give the year with a "number" representing its designation.

Timelines

Pacific hurricane articles

Eastern Pacific named storms

The following is a table of named storms in the eastern Pacific Ocean since 1966, the first season in which lists of names were cycled on an annual rotation basis beginning with the "A" name each year.

Older seasons

Where multiple seasons are covered by one article, the first season covered is the one in the table.

Central Pacific named storms

The following is a table of named storms in the eastern Pacific Ocean since 1982, when the four rotating naming lists were introduced. Names are used one after the other without regard to year, and when the bottom of one list is reached, the next named storm receives the name at the top of the next list.

Other storm articles

Any other storm in the East or Central Pacific with an article belongs here, whether it was officially named or not. The table gives the year of the storm and the first letter of the official name or common name, where there was no official name. Systems that developed in the Central Pacific are italicized.

Timelines

Articles listing the formation, intensification, weakening, dissipation, and landfalls of storms in a specific season in a day to day basis.

Pacific typhoon articles

Western Pacific named storms (1947-1999)

Any named storms in the Western Pacific Ocean from 1947 (the start of ordered and stable rotating naming lists, because in 1945 and 1946 names were given randomly without any order) to 1999 with an article goes here. The table is separated by year and gives the first letter of each storm. Bold names indicate retired Western Pacific names from the JTWC.

Western Pacific named storms (2000-present)

Any named storms in the Western Pacific ocean after 2000 with an article belongs here. The table is separated by year and gives the international designation of each storm. Bold numbers indicate retired Western Pacific names from the JMA.

Older season articles

Where multiple seasons are covered by one article, the first season covered is the one in the table.

Storm articles

Any other storms in the West Pacific with an article belongs here, including officially named storms before 1947 (because in 1945 and 1946 the names were chosen randomly), PAGASA storms that were unnumbered, or other articles. The table gives the year of the storm and the first two letters of the official name or common name, where there was no official name.
