This is a second semester intro to writing course for college freshmen. The primary objective of the course is for students to learn how to research and write analytically. For one of their primary assignments for the course students will select an under-developed Wikipedia article with instructor guidance. They will research the topic and contribute to the article, gaining an understanding of how to conduct scholarly research, how to write for a public audience, and how to interact with other scholars on a topic. Additional assignments will include a reflective essay on their experience, as well as an analytical research paper to be handed in directly to the instructor (NOT included in their edits of their selected Wiki article) that requires they make an argument based on the research they have done.
