Opp igjennom 1960-tallet fulgte ytterligere 13 topp-10 singler, noen av de mest kjente er «All Day and All of the Night», «Dedicated Follower of Fashion», «Sunny Afternoon», «Waterloo Sunset», «Dead End Street» og «Lola».

The Kinks (Ray Davies, Dave Davies, Pete Quaife og Mick Avory) ble innlemmet i Rock and Roll Hall of Fame i 1990.

Bandet har også inspirert en rekke band og artister, deriblant (The Who) Ramones, The Jam, Van Halen, Blur, The Kooks, Arctic Monkeys, T. Rex, The Pretenders, Babyshambles, The Lambrettas, David Bowie, Elvis Costello og Paul Weller.
