An action camera is a small video camera made to attach to a person while doing an extreme activity like playing a sport or traveling on a vehicle. This kind of camera is for used for filming an event in a way that people watching the film feel like they are looking from the eyes of person who is doing the activity (first-person perspective). While action camera is made for filming, it can also take pictures. All films and pictures it takes are kept on a tiny card that you can pull out and use to watch the photos and videos later.
Action cameras are made to be very small and light, so that a person who wears it is not affected by its weight or size while doing the activities. It usually uses a wide-angle lens to film as many details around as possible from a small opening. Inside the camera, there is a battery that lasts long enough to film for a few hours. Action cameras are also made to be more tough than normal video cameras because they are used in rough situations. Many action cameras can keep filming even after the wearer person crashes into something at high speed. These cameras will have a belt that can attach to clothing or a metal rod that can be screwed on an object that person wears (usually a helmet). This lets the person doing the action not have to use one hand to hold the camera. If the camera is attached to the head, it will move with the person’s head and give their point of view as they look around.
Camera sellers usually give you a clear box made of hard plastic that fits to cover the camera when you buy it. The box protects the camera from being scratched or getting dirt in it. Some kind of these boxes can stop water from coming into it when closed, so you may use them to film under water without water damage to the camera.
