Adventure Time, also referred to as Adventure Time with Finn & Jake or Adventure Time with Finn, Jake & BMO, is an American animated sitcom created by Pendleton Ward for Cartoon Network. Finn, Jake and BMO live in the Land of Ooo, which is a nation of an overworld version of Earth that has been nearly destroyed by the Great Mushroom War.

Series creator Pendleton Ward said that he wrote the show as though he were playing Dungeons & Dragons.

Ward's creation is based on his 2007 short movie that aired on Nicktoons as a pilot on Frederator's Random! Cartoons. After the short became a viral hit on the Internet, Nickelodeon's executives did not want to make it into a show. Afterwards, Cartoon Network approved Ward's idea of making it into a show in 2010. The same year, the series premiered on Cartoon Network on April 5, and it ended its eight-year run on September 3, 2018.

It was followed by the Adventure Time: Distant Lands specials and the Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake spin-off, which were released on Max. Two more spin-offs, called Adventure Time: Side Quests and Adventure Time: Heyo BMO.
