BBC World News is an international news television channel. Unlike other BBC channels, it is not available in the United Kingdom. It is not funded by a licence fee. Instead it has advertisements. BBC World News employs more correspondents and reporters than any other news channel.

The channel was launched in 1991.

In March 2024, BBC World News became available as a channel on several free streaming services in the United States.

In June 2025, BBC News launched a new subscription service in the U.S. for unlimited access to articles and the livestream on its website and its mobile app beginning in January 2026.
