The Battle of Debrecen, was an offensive by the Red Army of the Soviet Union against the Wehrmacht of Nazi Germany during the battle for Hungary during the Eastern Front of World War II. The main objective of the battle was the Hungarian city of Debrecen. The battle lasted from 6 to 29 October 1944 and was a victory for the USSR.
