Bvlgari is an Italian brand of jewelry and luxury goods (jewelry, watches, perfumes, leather goods and hospitality products), part of the French conglomerate LVMH. The company, which began in Rome, Italy, in 1884, gained prominence as a jewelry store, although its product range has grown over time to include watches, bags, fragrances, accessories and hotels.

Origin of the name

The name is often written as Bvlgari as in the classical Latin alphabet (where V = U) and originates from the surname of the company's Greek founder, Sotirios Vulgaris (Greek: Σωτήριος Βούλγαηρ, pronounced ˈvulɣaris], Italian: Sotirio Bulgari, 1857–1932).
