Charles Kushner (born May 16, 1954) is an American real estate developer, politician and former lawyer who has been the United States Ambassador to France and Monaco since 2025. He founded Kushner Companies in 1985. His son Jared Kushner is the husband of Ivanka Trump and son-in-law of Donald Trump.
In 2005, he was found guilty of illegal campaign contributions, tax evasion, and witness tampering after hiring a prostitute to seduce his brother-in-law, recorded a sex tape between the two, and sending the tape to his sister. He was sentenced to two years in jail. He later received a pardon by his son's father-in-law, President Donald Trump, on December 23, 2020.
In November 2024, President-elect Trump nominated Kushner to be the U.S. Ambassador to France and Monaco for his second term. On February 12, 2025, his nomination was sent to the Senate. His nomination was confirmed by the Senate by a vote of 51-45. Cory Booker was the lone Democratic senator to support his confirmation.
