The Commodore 16 (or C16) was a home computer made by Commodore International. It was released in 1984 as a low-cost replacement for the Commodore VIC-20. It was part of the Commodore 264 series. It was not successful in the United States, but in Europe it was a success, especially as a low-end game system. The C16 used a MOS Technology 7501 or MOS Technology 8501 processor and had 16 kB of RAM. It was related to the Commodore Plus/4 and the Commodore 116. All three computers belonged to the Commodore 264 series and shared a similar design.
