Writer George R. R. Martin helped with the game. The game was released on February 25, 2022. They released the game for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. It is similar to Dark Souls, making it a soulslike game.
In the game, the player travels the open World, trying to get Great Runes, which are shards of the Elden Ring. They have to defeat bosses to find them. The player tries to work their way up to becoming the new ruler of the kingdom and the Elden Lord.
On June 20, 2024, downloadable content titled Shadow of the Erdtree was released for the game.
