A gas mask is a kind of mask that fits over the face area and nose. It protects from poison gases and many other hazards in the air. They are often used in war.

The label NIOSH uses for gas masks, that show NIOSH has checked the gas mask.

Gas masks in the United States are checked by NIOSH.
