Ghost is a fictional character appearing in Marvel Comics, primarily known as an antihero and sometimes an adversary to the Avengers.
The character first appeared in Ant-Man #1 in 2015, created by writer Nick Spencer and artist Ramon Rosanas.
Ghost's real name is Dr. Elihas Starr, a scientist who gains the ability to manipulate his own density, allowing him to become intangible or super-strong by controlling his phase-shifting technology. Originally depicted as a villain, Ghost has evolved into a more complex character, sometimes operating in a morally gray area, often motivated by personal grief or scientific curiosity.
There are different versions and iterations of Ghost in Marvel lore, including a female version known as Ava Starr, who appears in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), notably in the film Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018). Ava Starr's powers are based on quantum phase-shifting, and her character is portrayed by Hannah John-Kamen.
