A hypha (from Ancient Greek ὑφή (Template:Grc-transl) 'web'; pl. hyphae) is a long, branching, part of a fungus, oomycete, or actinobacterium. In most fungi, hyphae are the main areas of vegetative growth. A group of them is called a mycelium.
